| | | Thisis heavy - its too soul crushing to go down this path antichrist.
Acknowledge it by all means. Get over this girl. Its easy for me to say it but maybe there's something better - more girls, writing, reading, friends, whatever. But you have to do it yourself - no oe will do it for you.
What's the point? I don't know, I keep going so I might find out some day. Maybe its kids, maybe its your partner, your family, your achievements. Maybe its nothing, I don't know. But try to find out for yourself and don't quit. |

Radio by Goldfinger
It's 9 O'Clock she's late for work
She hates her job, her boss is a jerk
Her boyfriend never lets her play
She thinks she's wasting life away
At 5 O'Clock she gets in her car
She's driving fast but never goes far
Parked on the freeway, slips in a rage
Time to ride the airwaves
Long live my radio it never lets me down,
Long live my radio give me sound
Nothin' to do nothin' to say
Just try to find another way
To a different world some other plane
Where I can be myself without going insane
This little place that we call life
Theres more to it than just pain and strife
Gotta find that somewhere in your brain
Gotta ride the airwaves
Long live my radio it never lets me down,
Long live my radio give me sound
Long live my radio please make it alright
Long live my radio tonight
And when the static's screamin' louder than your life
Just try to ride the waves in the air tonight
I make a dedication and try to get it right
So you can hear it on the airwaves
Airwaves
Long live my radio it never lets me down
Long live my radio tonight
Let's Go!
Long live my radio it never lets me down,
Long live my radio give me sound
Long live my radio make it alright
Long live my radio tonight
Tonight
Long live my radio tonight |

| | Some interesting thoughts here
I agree with the consensus that it is important to try to focus on more than your problems. Speaking from my own experience, depression is self-perpetuating, it is a rut. It is so easy to stay down, to remain negative, dismissive and pessimistic. It is easy to continue to blame what we believe to be the cause, and a lot of the time we also blame other people around us for lacking sympathy, or for not understanding...depression in a family affects more than the individual. Depression can be self-indulgant, open your eyes and look around you. The world goes on. You may feel isolated, but are you alienating yourself? The battle is finding the energy to get back up. Set yourself a small goal each day, something that is achievable, and promise yourself that you will be at least this productive. Your goal may be something as simple as getting dressed before mid afternoon (been there ) but if you manage that, you have achieved something. You can eventually build on this, until one day you may look back and wonder why such trivial tasks were such a mountain to climb. Having just one moment of achievement each day can really help. Providing yourself with a focal point each day, however mundane, is the first step back up. Don't listen to the sad, bitter or angry songs that only serve to emphasize your mood, read a book instead, or write a poem or short story, paint a picture Get it out and you are looking forward.

@ Scayde: Thank you for your kind words. I do counseling as part of my practice, though I am thinking I should do some advanced training with Ysh.

| | It hurts me to hear people are in such a pain, 'cause I knew it too.
@Mental Nomad, I think you're way stronger than you pretend...
@Antichryst, you have to be very young, don't worry too much.
You'll see many good moments, stay assured
Anyway, I just wanted to share a small bit of my "wisdom":
don't ever rate WOMEN as a problem!
You have YOUR life, YOUR interests.
God knows how much pain I received from girls!
A couple of times, I felt *humiliated*, even.
And I was PURPOSEDLY humiliated, once. I won't ever forget (though I'd like to) Actually, this is what made me wake up. I changed entirely my attitude with
girls.
And when you start not caring about them, girls start to come by themselves.
And the less you care, the more they come!
I know it's not a nice thing to say, but this is true nonetheless.
And it shields you from excessive sufferings.
I was\am a dreamer like you about girls. You dream of the strong, everlasting
love, not just sex.
But the girls you dream more about, are ALWAYS the ones that hurt you
and surprise you the more. And it's also your fault, 'cause you IMAGINE
wrong things about them.
Don't dream too much. Go and see. Take it lightly, have fun.
Maybe one day true love will come, with the most unexpected girl. Quote: |

Usually I just crank up the song, "Blasphemous Rumors" by Depeche Mode. If not that, I usually just listen to random 80's music. That tends to make me feel better.
And another thing....I think Scayde said that parents help you out in depressions.....not me. I feel uncomfortable, and sometimes their fighting is the thing that sends me into the depression, so I really dont run to my parents. My brother usually walls himself from bad situations so I cant really talk to him. I usually either listen to music to calm my nerves or I get the baseball bat and start hitting pillows and chairs while spitting out profanities. Youd be surprised on how much that helps.

| | | No, not for me.
Depressing movies make me feel better though - I can be in a foul mood and watch Saving Private Ryan or Black Hawk Down and thank the Lord I didn't have to go through anything like that. |

| | | For me, the more depressing the music (or the more suicidal the music, like Papa Roach's Last Resort), the more I tend to feel better. I'm normally depressed, almost everyday, although the degree varies, and its usually because of nothing. I tend to contemplate suicide once a month to even once a week, and usually its for no real reason.
But, I come home, feeling sad, turn on the computer, and start blasting System of a Down and Slipknot. Also, my friends care a great deal about me, and they've kept me alive numerous times.

| | | Same about the friends. I have one friend but if he wasn't there, I wouldn't be here. And it's the same for him. And as for my ex, I'm attempting to be friends, we were such good friends before. That's more depressing than anything I guess, I just about lost one of my best friends. I'm trying to rebuild that, but it's so difficult. I'll be talking to her just fine and then my mind wanders off to before and all of the sudden I want to shoot myself. On top of that, relgion just gets so bad to me. I broke a pencil today while listening to a preacher (in school...argh) because I got so angry. So anyways, I'm off to go write, play some Warcraft, think, whatever. At some point I'm gonna call my ex and ask her out to dinner...I've just gotta talk to her (free dinner for her and she just has to listen lol). I think/hope that'll help a whole lot (if I ever get up the courage to do it lol). |

@ Anti... Do you like sports..
Playing not watching.
Nothing burns off negative energy like good old fashioned sweat while you play out door sports. Base ball, is Great.. You get to hit things with a bat really hard, and it's tough to feel sad when you are sliding into home plate. If you are not the outdoors type, Now might be the perfect time to try something new *G*

| | Exactly my suggestion too....I tend to exercise a lot when I'm feeling down....treadmill, swimming, soccer (it's a great feeling when you slide check ), any contact sports (go from mental to physical pain )
Also as Gaxx said....System of a Down is great....just try and catch the lyrics...normally the singer goes really fast.
