| | | Actually Kerry stated that most soldiers committed atrocities and this with the full knowledge of command, sometimes even encouraged by command, and also stated the penalties for complaining about said atrocities.
Don't like Kerry myself, prefer Kucinich(better on the issues) and at least he voted against the war, but unfortunately one must be pragmatic about the whole thing and Kerry seems to be the best compromise candidate in my opinion especially with his whole war record vs. Bush's lack of one.
Al Sharpton is pretty good, especially with his oratory, no I think there are candidates worth voting for, its just that most of them are not the front runners.
Dean, for example, I would have preferred to Kerry, he was against the war, fairly liberal on most issues, and even with his lack of a military record had enough charisma and intelligence to beat dumb dumb. But I have always believed Kerry was the better candidate, sure its a compromise candidate but its better then Lieberman would have been.
Oh well there are actually some good candidates, but got to beat Bushy.

There was no way of telling if your reply had registered on the forum, and I suspect there was a significant delay. I also ended up re-submitting a post in the Word Association thread, just because I wanted to try to send it again. It wasn't until later that the two posts showed up. I suspect Chan had the same problem.... |

| | Hehe, thanks for zapping those. My internet browser was in limbo.
@Weasel: Of course there is someone worth voting for. You know who he is...
Donald Duck.

| | | I'd vote for Justin Timberlake. He has an uncanny knack for uncovering the truth.
Failing that, I'd say Edwards. Kerry represents the Democratic establishment - at least IMHO - and I feel Kerry would at least provide something new and fresh.

Does Edwards still have a chance? Or is it a done deal in favor of Kerry. And what exactly is the reason that Kerry is doing so well, or rather, what is the reason Edwards isn't doing as well as Kerry? I thought the general feeling in the US (as is the case here in Holland, for example) was that people had had it with conventional politics and politicians. Edwards may not be a revolutionair but at least he doesn't seem to represent the establishment of the Democratic party.

| | | I think the Democrats are consolidating early behind the candidate with the most money (Kerry) and are more interested in battling Dubya than each other.
Ralph Nader just announced that he is running for president as an independent and many Democrats blame him for taking just enough votes in New Hampshire and Florida to hand the state to Dubya.
Some Democratic strategists believe Nader will do the same thing this year, but I don't think there is enough support for a 3rd party this year to seriously hurt the Democrats.
I think the "swing votes" will be the moderate Republicans who are fiscal centrists and socially liberal who may bolt from Dubya and the other hardliners in November.

| | Let's see if I can post this just one time.
Donald Duck is obviously a Republican, just like God is.
I wonder about the fighting amongst the Dems, since it was Wesley Clark (a Democrat) who leaked out the tidbit alleging wrongdoing on Kerry's part concerning an intern. It was made "off the record" of course...*cough* *cough*
