| | | Deep but not Profound (game) Someone says "x but not y" (where x and y are replaced by words, obviously) and the statement is either true or false. Winning is basically working out the Rule.
The Rule is blindingly obvious once you get it, and difficult to get, and the game is fun.
BUT NEVER STATE THE RULE!
I start: Deep but not profound.

| | I think I speak for a lot of people when I say "huh?"
So... the second person is supposed to try to guess The Rule? Because if that's so what you're basically trying to get us to do is to see a pattern from only one line... and that's not possible.
Or is it someone else's turn to say "x but not y" and you'll tell him wether it follows the rule or not? And what has the validness of the statement got to do with the game (you said it was either true or false...)?
If I am supposed to post a statement after yours that's it: Shallow but not simple.
If not, just ignore it

| | | I think I get the rule. Maybe.
Heavy, but not meaningful.

| | Another, just to see.
Flawless but not perfect?
If I have got it right, then I say that Frogus' statement is true, Vicsun's statement is true, but fable's is false

| | If this is as simple as I think it is ... then
But why not:
Toll but not tax.
Edit: if I'm correct - it is even easier then "who got the ball" game we used to "play" at parties driving some people mad untill they got it.

Ok, carried but not borne.
If we are wrong, Xandax, we should play our own rules

| | | Surely it's not as simple as--
True but not accurate?
Sure but not certain?
Silly but not ridiculous?

Fable, this game is witty but not dry.
Accurate but not true
Silly but not ridiculous
and neither sure nor certain.
