Now I have checked...and I remain sceptic for two reasons:
1. Usually, not always, but very often, there is something fishy when scientists choose to release a finding to the popular press before going through the control process of peer-review etc that is required for a publication in the scientific press.
2. Only mitochondrial DNA analysis is performed so far, so why start speculating in the public press on the basis of hearsay and droppings that show a chinp-type diet?
There is nothing about this in the scientific press, and I will remain sceptic until I see a peer-reviewed analysis or either nuclear DNA or the skull they have found, or both. Why can't I find any publications on the skull? Let's see if your wife has better luck!
