My cut is pusy, wonder if that gets past the filter.

Riding on my bike down to the gas station, I figured it would be cool to take my hands of the handlebar.
That worked well.

Suddenly got the idea to take my feet of the pedals also.
Not a good idea.

I hit a rock or something in the road and got a close encounter with the road at about 30 mph. (steep hill)

Result.
- One medium concussion (because of no helmet)
- Broken glasses
- Face looked like a meatball (landed on it )
- Lots of scrapes on knees and elbows
- 5 stitches in my left eyebrow and 3 on my chin
- One night in hospital
- Not allowed to do anything for a week because of the concussion


Plus I also scared the **** out of my mate.


Best thing about the incident was that I could not remember anything between starting the ride and entering the hospital.

Ah, well your not alone there. I've done that and suffered the consequences, crashing outside my old high school tends to damage ones ego.

I wouldn't recommend people trying out mountain bike riding though, few friends and I became regular faces at a nearby ER. I won't go through all the injuries but its one of the few times that my parents told me to find a safer hobby.
