| | | Child Prodigy I found this site and I thought it was very strange. This person appears to be very talented, though the artists among you can judge better than me. Someone also appears to be very good at publicising her and her work. Does anyone have any thoughts? Is she well known? http://www.artakiane.com/ |

| | He might be referring to the painting labelled Faith.
That's impressive artwork. And I agree, this Akiane definitely has a good PR agent and page designer too. |

| | Well I have to say I was impressed by the paintings, but I was confused by the claim that she is "the only known child binary genius, in both realist painting and poetry". Does this imply that somewhere there is an absolute definition of "genius" that all mankind agrees upon? I'll let it slide as a marketing scheme (she has an awfully good publicist, you're right Fiona ) but I was a little put off by the arrogance in that remark. She is incredibly talented, however: there's no denying that. |

Does anyone else find it disturbing that she is said to have had a religious experience at age 4 which resulted in the conversion of her previously atheist family to Christianity? I'm not saying it isn't true. Just that it strikes me as unutterably odd

@Fiona, no problem, I didn't understand what CM meant when I first looked either.
And that strikes me as hyped-up publicity (sorry, being cynical again). |

| They seem to mean that she is a genius in two fields. |

@Fiona, no problem, I didn't understand what CM meant when I first looked either. | I took it as meaning she is the only known child who shows "genius" qualities in two different areas of study: art and poetry. That could be totally wrong, but that's how I interpreted it. I think it's a HS statement regardless.
Well I guess that's a bit odd Fiona, but I've heard of crazier things. It too could just be a publicity stunt ("child, touched by God, becomes genius, paints alot of Christian paintings... etc.") but there's no doubt she's gifted: why can't she be a saint too? |

| | | WOW!!!
I'm not that much interested in art, and especially art which has something to do with religion, but I must confess that that child is very tallented!
