That's not a hack sack. No clue what those are called, but they used to be prizes at arcades when I was little. I used to tear them open and fill them with catnip, sew them back up and give them to my cat. I'd find them shredded, and my cat passed out with catnip everywhere when I woke up the next day.
Hacks are actual cloth weave sacks, not an imitation leather version. Same basic principle of the way the ball is made other than that though. A sack cover filled with a hard pebble type filling.
