Spain's a wonderful place if you can speak Spanish, which I can't. Therefore, I had to act like a tourist, which I probably still would've done even if I could speak Spanish . In any case, there's this awesome ancient mountain fortress called the Alhambra, built by the Arabs that had control of Spain for a little while (a bit you may or may not have remembered from European History), and it is absolutely HUGE. Plus, it's got an incredible view and the architecture is superb. It's amazing the kind of artwork people can come up with when you're not allowed to use any images of people. Geometric designs that make even a math person go loopy trying to follow them!
In other news, I got a call that I have no clue how to answer, and could use some advice. My ex-GF left me a message asking me why I don't call her anymore. Now, we didn't exactly split on good terms, so I am surprised that she'd call me at all. I'm currently trying VERY hard to forget her, and this reminder is the absolute last thing I need. Still, I really, really hate being rude, and she WAS a GF once so I'd feel like a real jerk if I just ignored the call. Should I call her back, and what the heck am I supposed to say?

| | Welcome back, Opalescence! Personally, I think Spain is a wonderful place regardless if whether you speak Spanish or not, I have several times to the South coast and to the Pyrenees to climb, and in the small villages there nobody speaks English. Quote: |

The Alhambra caste is one of Europe's most famous buildings, and by many, including myself, considered the finest medival castle in Europe. There Moorish architectural heritage is strong in Spain, there are many wonderful buildings that both in beauty and technique by far surpass what the Europeans built at the same time. Well worth seeing!
Regarding your ex-GF, I also think you should call her. Since she called you and explicitly asked why you don't call her anymore, I think you should tell her honestly why you don't, whatever the reason may be.

| That's the great thing about Europe, there are huge differences between countries even though the are only a 'few' kilometers appart.
I've never been to the USA, but even though there are many great sites, it all looks somewhat alike due to the same culture.
edit:
I've just looked up some pictures about the Alhambra on the internet as I've never been there, and it looks great! I want to go there!
