| | | AoTC Music Video FYI:
If anyone wants to know, I've just downloaded a pretty good quality version of the AoTC Music video 'Across the stars' Which is basicaly a 4 1/2 minute trailer, with John Williams composing/recording it in between.
A lot of the scenes and dialague were not in any of the trailers.
For Star Wars and/or John Williams fans.
P.S. I also downloded the trailers to 'Sum of all fears' an 'MIB II' both look pretty good IMO.

| | Well, my PC always gets stuck on starwars.com, so I found it on KaZaa- but still here is the link to The Official Site- but I'm pretty sure its only streaming. I started a thread in the technical forums about the possibility of downloading it.

| | I didn’t much care for the Across the Stars video. The movie footage is all old stuff recycled from the various trailers and the music itself is fairly lackluster when compared to Duel of the Fates (the last Star Wars music video). Don't get me wrong, it's not bad but it's not great either. I just feel as though they could have done a lot better (though the "Death Sticks" scene with Obi-Wan in the begining is great) http://boards.wizards.com/rpg/wink.gif

| | | I'm a huge John Williams fan (I'm pretty sure the biggest around here)
I didn't see a lot of the scenes before, I think a lot of them weren't in trailers.
Did you notice who the 'Death Sticks' guy was? its the guy who played Mouse in the Matrix!
It obviously isn't as good as the music of 'Duel of The Fates'
and for a reason- that was totaly original inspired only by Mozart's requiem. The entire soundtrack of AoTC is suppose to be variation/rearrangments of other tunes- since thats what the movie is- a merging between Anakin and Vader- so most of the themes are from other movies. IMO the high point of the soundtrack is the last track 'confrontation with Count Dukoo' when, for about 45 seconds, the 'Imperial March' plays in its full glory, as oppose to TPM- in which it played twice very, very softly for about 5 seconds.
I aways thought that The Imperial March was all around, the best tune ever. Even just by listening to it, you get the idea that this is about the most Evil person/place/thing in creation- which, in The Empire Strikes back, is exactly what Darth Vader is.
The only complaint I have about the soundtrack is the fact that 'Across the Stars' starts out just like the theme from 'Hook'- but as A Williams fan, not necceserily a Star Wars fan, I have no problems with him importing something from another movie.
Sorry about the long response, but if I get started on Wlliams, its hard for me to stop.

| | | @Morlock:
Most of the footage in the video is recycled from the four previously-released film trailers (you can also view these on the Official Star Wars site, if you register with them) or from footage already released to the public through other outlets (except for the "Death Sticks" scene at the beginning). Shows like Entertainment Tonight and Inside Edition have been rife with "exclusive new footage" from AOTC and some of the other highly anticipated summer movies (like Spider-Man, Men in Black II and even The Two Towers.

Nice to see he can still find work. http://boards.wizards.com/rpg/biggrin.gif Quote: Originally posted by Morlock It obviously isn't as good as the music of 'Duel of The Fates'

If anything this score should have easier for Williams since he's working with his old scores (which were great in and of themselves). While it is ostensibly AotC theme song, I feel one of more rousing numbers would have been a better choice (the fact that all the footage is old doesn't help matters). | | Have you checked out some of the Episode 2 commercials also available at Starwars.com? I'm cycling through them right now and they rock! There's also lots of new (to me, anyway) footage from the movie.

| | The official site is the only place that I know of, although you might also try CountingDown.com. They mostly have trailers under the "video" section for each movie, but occasionally they also post media appearances and commercials.
