Any song's that didn't sound the same after you actually read the lyrics?

I always thought that the line in the Jimi Hendrix song 'Purple haze' was 'Excuse me, while I kiss this guy', not the 'Excuse me while I kiss the sky' that it actually is...

Any similar ideas..?

I think we had a thread about this before, but I'm not sure. They're called "mondegreens," from a celebrated example that happened about a generation ago. The writer Sylvia Wright was discussing on a tv show having heard an old Scots ballad as a child:

Ye Highlands and Ye Lowlands
Oh where hae you been?
They hae slay the Earl of Murray,
And they laid him on the green.

...only for years, she thought the final line was,

And the Lady Mondegreen.

So she went through puberty wondering whom Lady Mondegreen was. The term mondegreen was coined shortly after that interview.

I always thought the line in Queens 'Fat Bottomed Girls' was 'Get On your Backs and Rock".

Its really, "Get on your Bikes and Ride."

"It's only the fairy tale" From Mai-HiMe, the pronounciation was horrible. I gave full marks to the music, the (actual) lyrics, and the singing itself, though.

I know there was one that I always got wrong, but I can't seem to remember it, hopefully it'll come to me shortly.
