Any Modest Mouse fans out there?

I've been following them for quite a long time. As of recently they have started to go a bit mainstream, which is a little bothersome...but what can you do? Their music has all been awesome since the beginning.

Any fans here?

they're, formerly, an indie rock band that remained relatively underground until recently. you might know their most recent song that hit the radio...."Float On".....

I'm not quite sure why, but I found that hilarious. It probably has something to do with a ball-o-meter, though.

Regarding their music, I never cared for them. I now realize that's probably because they have no balls.

I enjoyed their performance of "Float On" on Comedy Central's Last Laugh 2004. I honestly had never heard of them before that. David Cross introduced them (jokingly, of course) as "Timid Turtle". For some unexplained reason, the lead singer had a black eye.

"Float On" is a very catchy tune with a simple message ("don't worry, everything's going to be alright no matter what happens"). I enjoyed the vocal harmonizing, the lead guitar part, and the percussion/drums part. I tried to find a copy of it to download before I rush out and buy an album I've never heard before, and I have come across several different versions. Some of them aren't as good as others. Since I presumably have the attention of a real Modest Mouse fan now, can you tell me how many different versions there are? I'd appreciate it!

I love Modest Mouse! I feel kind of bad for being the kind of person who only likes them for their new album that is popular. I always mock them. But anywho, i realy love their music. I have Good news for people who love bad news and The Moon and Antartica. I came as a rat is my favorite song. They play real music but their lyrics and style make you laugh and rock out at the same time.
