Magelord's thread got me to remembering all the babysitting fun I've had, both being the sitter and the sitee.
So post any memorable moments you have had while the parents (whomever's) were away....
Worst family I ever babysat for: The mom was a caterer and would not allow me to eat ANY food in the house. It was all saved for a wedding she was doing on Sat. Hmm, potato chips at a wedding...maybe she didn't get much work. Plus, the kid was a bratty crier, who wanted me to play with him although I made it clear that I was on the phone!!!  Okay, I'll admit, I was a pretty crappy babysitter in HS!! 
Best Family I ever babysat for: This was during college breaks, so I was much more responsible. The parents were big partiers, and would go away for the entire weekend. I would get to stay at their house the whole time with their two kids. The house was huge with a playroom and a playground and a veranda overlooking the river. The kids were great, and the pantry was stocked!! They paid a fortune and would let me make all the long distance calls I wanted, which was great since my boyfriend was living out of town. I don't think they would have cared what I did, as long as the kids were alive when they showed up Sunday night.
Anyone else??

lol i got stories about our babysitter, back when i was a lil boy... me and one of my brothers decided we didnt want to spend all day cleaning our rooms so we made sandwiches, stole a bunch of food, and camped out, spent the night in the woods, and stayed out the rest of the next day. she was soo pissed. it was fun.

ROFL I remember one time my sis and her bf were making cookies for christmas-I had to watch her bf's dumb 2nd cousin or something like that...Man he was a little ---- He just kept hitting me and punching me over and over and it was in the next room so I couldn't Even Beat the Crap outta him or hit him once or time him out....The worst is at School when I get these Bratty Smartmouths on breaktime I remember once a first grader dissed me one to many times and punched me in a baaaaaaaad place to punch me one to many times so I picked him up and threw him across the room-of course the quote a quote "monitor" was never there when he was doing that to me...And on my detention slip it said "fighting" with a first grader.
Then my 2nd cousins...3 of them...They use Baaaaaaad talk and I mean this is REALLY bad kinda talk ever time i go to my aunt's for a holdiay I end up Babysitting them...and it is EXTREMELY hard to do that when the are dissing your sis and stuff. I used to be gentle with them but now when they kick at me I grab their legs and flip 'em over. They think it's fun so they come back for more until they finally get cut and then I almost get in trouble-I am not going to tell you what they said it is so sad little kids like that learn that kinda trash talk.

I have never been babysitted(expect under 5y old) and I've never been a sitter.

@Massy--so, your parents let you stay home alone from the time you were 6?? Did they make some movies about you??  | | |

Had my nephew for a weekend, 8 yr. old, smart and funny, told him he could do anything he wanted and eat and drink anything ....of course he wanted all the caffeine drinks and chocolate I had in the house....after a couple of hours and half a bag of chocolate and 3 or 4 Mt. Dews, he was literally bouncing off the walls talking a mile a minute to his G.I. Joes, every now and then would just freeze and watch about 1 minute of TV before the junk food kicked in again.(never figured out what would make the freeze up to check the tube, (no correlation between the commercials or specific shows)..this lasted for about 4 hours before he wound down and snoozed all night
next day was quiet as a mouse...his Dad related later that he had the best time ever  | | |

This isn't a personal experience. Rather, it is about an occasion when a friend babysat my son. He was about two years old at the time.....
One thing that would almost always quiet him down would be the bathtub. So, since he could be a bit high maintenance at that age... my friend decided to go for the bath tub approach.
She recounted to me that at one point my son looked down and exclaimed in glee.... "Pretty penis!"
We've always spoken to him in correct anatomical terms, but there were moments when I wondered about the sagacity of that

Did they make some movies about you?? | No it was just that my mom didn't go to work so she was almost always home. When mom wasn't home there was always one of my big brothers, which I have three. By the time I was ten I was allowed to stay home alone for a couple of hours and me as responsible kid didn't do anything crazy.
Wait there was this one time when I tried to shoot through the door with a shotgun, you see we have two shotguns, which usually aren't loaded. I knew where my dad kept the shells so I just grabbed a few and loaded the shotgun and I ran quickly to the door but then I fell to the doorstep and hit myself unconscious. After a while my mom found me lying on the floor with loaded shotgun and you can just imagine what went through her head. I don't want to tell the rest of the story.

Once a friend of mine had his two kids at his wife's mother's and it was a five year old and a three year old.So when they got to their grandmother's house Their Grandmother said to the girl (who is about three) My,Your getting big.Then the boy said No she's not she still sits down to pee
