Good job Dubya, I knew you could color inside the lines. Now tomorrow we'll learn how to use the potty, ok?

An expensive muddle. Too many issues fused together, on which everybody was expected to agree: Israeli racism, Indian caste prejudices, reparations for blacks, etc. And all of the big name issues were obscuring the very real slavery problems that still exist in Asia, South America, and Africa--with many buyers in the US and Europe.

Summation:

Force one side to stop being racist, while not forcing the other side to do the same thing.

End Result:

More conflict.

Forcing one side to stop being racist could be claimed as racism because you signaled out their race. We should not give up on stopping racism but why is that when a white male kills a black male that its deemed a hate crime but when a black male kills a white male it is not.

Well, Eminem, that's because Isreal was getting the short end of the stick. Even Canada and the Netherlands, considered neutral, agreed about that.

@word - i couldn't agree more on the whole hate crime issue.
why is it that if someone kills my family in cold blood, they should recieve less of a punishment than someone who kills someone for their color or creed?
murder is murder.

and israel has never gotten the short end of the stick. they have broken more UN treaties than any other country, and are guilty of countless crimes, but suffer no flack except from arab/Islamic countries

@nael: Palestinians. All Israel has done wrong so far is overreact. But you can never, never be able to place any blame on Israel until those idiots stop throwing rocks.

Israel overreacts alot. They do it in every conflict they've ever faced. You know what, though? They always are reactive, not preemptive. That's the difference. Quite frankly, if they weren't so vehement in their reactions they'd be extinct already.

Hey Eminem - I think your signatures are punctuated in a confusing manner -

Shouldn't it be:

Go, Dubya, Go!
Go, Rehnquist, Go!

Why, Jeffords, Why?

(or alternately
Why, Jeffords? Why!?)

(posted to cover up for double post

As far as the UN conference on racism, I've been hearing different stories on what's going on, so how to know what's really true?

One story I heard made it sound as if the conference was pretty much irreparable as far as being an excuse to gang up on israel.

Another story said that the language that Israel is upset about is not included in the conference document, and was from another document, so that Israel and the US are overreacting.

Well I certainly don't want to take sides - I don't much care for Israel's tactics, or those of much of the arab world that surrounds Israel, and I often think that these problems will NEVER be solved.

I think that the UN is pretty much a waste of time in many ways, it is a diplomatic body whose main purpose seems to be to give the world a chance to talk trash about America and, in this case, Israel. That's at least the perspective we get on the UN here in America, we could be getting a skewed portrayal through our media channels.

Overreact? They took the Palestiens country, have barely given anything back, nobody punishes them for it.
If the idiots stopped throwing rocks?
What about the idiots who could stop killing so many innocent people, with army helicopters?

"Sig-ing" in block letters is a tribute to those nut-cases at the Black Isle Studios Message Boards (am I allowed to mention this, Sleep?) who got me writing this way. Imitation, you see, the best form of flattery. I'll fix typos, however, when I get home. Thanks for noticing.

BTW, Republican or Demoncrat?

I think that the first step to actually eliminating racism is for people to accept and admit that they all harbor prejudice. Before the flames come, let me explain. I don't think of racism and prejudice as the same thing. Racism is pure hatred baced on someones race. prejudice is not necesarily hatred as much as expectations or assumption that we all draw on a first meeting. we meet a person and expect that person to act a certain way because of their religion, race, home region ect. I think that the biggest opbsticle that has to be overcome is the fact that people as a whole are terrified to admit that they are just a little bit prejudiced. But the prejudice must be acknowledged before it can be dealt with. And if we can deal with the fact that yes we are prejudiced, maybe we can start to look at what makes us all alike and not what makes us different.
