Well. Tomorrow is the day I officially finish High School. I have worked hard (HA!) these past four years, and played some good football, and met some awesome people. Looking back, I realize, that though I hated being obligated to go to school, I'm going to miss it quite a bit. I won't ever see half the people I knew again, and the other half will undoubtily drift apart, leaving only a sparse few.

It also makes me think of how unprepared I am for the future, being 18 and thrust into the College/University atmosphere. It frightens me, somewhat, and I'm unsure of how to go about it. I know understand what people mean when they say teenage years are often spent in confusion.

Anyway, this is it. I take the next step in my life, and I wonder how it's going to turn out...

Congratulations, Aegis; high school is often something we dread while we're in the middle of it, but isn't so bad several years later. Maybe now there will be more spamming and less lurking (at least until the college semester starts).

So now that you're all grown up, what are you going to do with yourself? College? The service? Work? Buy a VW van and follow the Grateful Dead around?

Congrats on finishing high school, dude.

I've still got another 2 years, and I know what you mean by never seeing some people again, as a few of my good friends are switching schools next year. Life goes on, though.

What are ya going to do now that you're done?

Hey man! Jerry Gracia is Gratefully Dead!

I hereby apologize for that pun. It was bad, and out of line.

Actually, I'm taking one last semestar, to play one more season of football. After that, it's either off to RMC, for Officers Training, or to Brock University, where I'll be taking Political Science, History, English, Political Movements, and then a year of of Teachers College.

Congrats Aegis - haveing just finished my exame period for this education I'm taking so I know the joy of "being done". (only 1 major paper left and I'm done completely (due in november))

Ahh - I remember the joy of being finished with the equvivalent of high schools here in Denmark, the nerveousness of starting my conscription periode in the army (volenteered) and all the plans I had afterwards .... thoese were good days.

RMC is canada's military university. I made it to the final interview before being turned down for not having the proper way of thinking. Whatever that means.

Congrats Aegis. I too just graduated from HS. It is an odd sensation knowing that you probably won't be seeing these people again. I've gone through High school as pretty highly visible, and I'm going to miss having that core of people who know, and the respect that comes with it. However University is a sweet deal. More rugby, more drinking and more money.

Cheers Aegis, if you ever come to SK let me know, we'll go party it up

The wierd thing for me about graduating highschool was not the people but the scenery. Those stairs you got so used to walking down, that tree you ate your lunch under, those girls with such nice racks always everywhere.

Anyway... congrats. And dont listen to enchantress it isn't all down hill till your 21. Wait no your a canuck.. I think 18 is downhill right?

Buy a VW van and follow the Grateful Dead around?

Since 8/9/95, seeing the Dead hasn't been the same. They're still pretty good, but it's no longer worth spending your summer eating hallucinogenics, driving around the country, and selling peanut butter sandwiches to get from show to show.

Congrats Aegis, move out of your folks house and go for higher learning. The best years of your life are about to begin.

Hey - congratulations! Follow Ned's advice - I know it seems daunting now - but you are entering the best years of your life - don't be afraid to take chances and follow your heart. The only regret you will have is if you look back later and life and say - "man- I wish I did that - but now its too late".

Oh - and celebrate like mad - if there are any gory details be sure to pass them on to us old geezers so that we can get a vicarious thrill.

Congrats, @Aegis! As for being unprepared: secret is, all of us here on SYM who made it to your point in life were equally unprepared. We survived. You will, too. You're smart, articulate, good-natured, and communicative. Don't let the sudden lack of linearity confound you. I'm sure you'll do well.
