Before I woke up early this morning, I experienced a dream that left me so bewildered, I had trouble getting back to sleep because of it.

The one point that I can clearly specify is that I'm in a school assembly, surrounded by the roudy people I used to know as classmates and fellow students. As the faculty of the school (quite a few being people whose voice and looks were made up by my mind) try to quell them down, I'm sitting quietly (though the scuffling my feet and chair make as I shift them is heard once in a while).

The thing is, after about 5 minutes of all that commotion, I'm suddenly picked to go up to the stage. At this point, the dream is in a view like Icewind Dale II, in that exact animation, but it was overall like an out-of-body experience. I actually do look like a dwarf (with light skin and mud brown hair, wearing a helmet as well as a simple green shirt and reddish black pants).
Suddenly, I'm hit with this football-sized fireball that's hurled from one of the presenters on-stage, who looks rather like a witch. The flying gout of flame bursts when it hits me, but seeps into my flesh, like water to a sponge. My eyes are aglow with their own self-contained orange-red flames, and my skin has somewhat darkened, taken on a lightly sun-tanned look. But what I had noticed above all else is the warm feeling of life, and a surge of energy that hungered for action. I almost fealt wild, like it would cause me to be caught up in a great mental frenzy. I honestly could almost feel it all, I swear!

Isn't it strange how dreams can mean quite a bit, whether you understand them or not? What could this one seriously mean? What of yours?

Your brain is simply preparing your self for a situation that would be like this. The reason it is like this is because alot of what you must do is Icewind dale or the school(this one being the setting, and icewind dale the fantasy). In short the brain want to make sure you wouldn't do something stupid like blow up the school (and yor self)etc. And by the sounds of it you became like a Dwarf-Fire Gensai or a Dwarf Half-fire elemental.

It would not surprise me if the dream relates to your present personal situation and the ways in which you are processing the situation

Ooooh, how very Freudian.

My interpretation is that you dreamt you were a dwarf being hit with a life-giving fireball by a witch in your school assembly hall. This plainly represents the (not-very-heavily) repressed desires every reasonably bright person has to blow up their school institution, and the feeling of life you felt from the explosion obviously signifies how satisfying it would feel to bomb your school. I recommend carrying out this plan as soon as possible, with a genuine witch if you can find one and that girl you were chasing if not, and to live the dream that we all have sooner or later! To paraphrase Homer Simpson, "Kill my boss?! Do I dare to live out the American dream?"
Seeing as I once dreamt I was Astro Boy fighting a giant flying pizza then I don't think you have anything to worry about...

Quite frequently in fact
Apparently this is quite common, I don't remember what it is supposed to mean though.

Well, the frenzy that I was feeling didn't really feel destructive. It felt more labor-intensive, like a drive to make something phenominal. As much as I have resent towards some experiences I had in high school, I'm looking towards finding the greatest power in myself. It was like that essence of flame was the energy to become nigh unto godly.

Honestly, I have such a desire to live out a rather tranquil, happy life, in which I have honorable, awesome accomplishments to reflect on, whether they be physical, academic, or something else. I desire to live a life of greatness if I were to find happiness. Besides, being nice to people gives me such a charge. As you can guess, if I were to be some young woman's hero, it would probably be like that gout of flame that entered my soul. The frenzy in my body (within the dream) wants me to accomplish an amazing feat of skill and brevity.

I personally don't like to look too much into dreams, don't worry yourself too much about it. As for my recent dream, I was in a hospital ward and some nurse handed me a baby and said "Congratulations, its a boy". I should of been freaked out but I wasn't, and that same state could still be felt when I woke up and began to ponder it even more. Its was a dream and nothing more.

@BS
I'm glad you didn't share your dreams with us, we couldn't have you getting banned now can we

Well, I agree with DW, it sounds like it could be something to do with the girl situation. Obviously a lot of the details of it are from what you do everyday (the RPG format of it), so pretty irrelevant. I wouldn't read too much into it - it could just be a symbol of how this girl makes you feel, and you already know that, right? It sounds quite optimistic to me.

I wouldn't take it so seriously... a dream is still just a dream, and you're only human after all. I mean, it's great that it gives you such energy, but remember to keep your aims realistic.

@Nael dreaming of your teeth falling out is a symbol of going through a transitional period, or of a current injury.

@Tammy you shouldn't be freaked out, dreaming of a new-born baby is a sign of success and happiness.

From a psychological point of view, it is not known exactly why dreams occur but it is thought that it is partly associated to memory consolidation and partly just a bi-product of other brain activity that occurs during sleep.

Dreams don't generally mean anything special at all, a majority of dream material is so called "day-fragments", ie you dream about things you have experienced recently such as people you've met, things you've done, the environment you've been in etc. This is also true for emotions, questions and other more mental activities. Psychological events that your mind is occupied with (or psychological events that simply occur, without being of any importance) are often reflected in your dreams. For instance, many people have certain kind of dreams when they are under stress - loosing your teeth or hair is not uncommon here, as well as dreams about trying to do something and every step fails all the time.

The is no support for the mysticistic notion that Freud and Jung believe in, that there are common dream symbols that would mean the same to more than one individual or have some special deeper meaning that can be revealed. You can however learn to interpret your own dreams, or somebody elses dreams if you know that person well, but this is more for fun, since dreams cannot really tell you anything you don't already know.
