It was only a matter of time before someone had this idea.

Acclaims' bid to sale games.

Quote:
"particularly interest poorer families".
Is it not enough the family has to deal with the death of a love one?? Now you have to bid your loved ones grave away to help pay for the grave?

I have now at this moment lost all faith in human kind!

Whoever thought of this has a sick mind.
This isn't advertisment anymore...

This can't be allowed by law can it?

I was thinking it might be a joke...but I have a bad feeling it is not.

The sad thing is...I don't believe there is a law in the US against this. There is only one local law about ads where I live..."Can't be over twenty feet off the ground"...and this is only in the city limits.

Thats awfully disturbing. If this was a Satirewire article or one from another humour site. I could understand, but thats just plain wrong. Hopefully the public will stop it before it even begins.

Well i wouldnt believe there would be a law on this. I mean come on how sick and argh can you get. It is annoying how the company is doing this. It is just wrong. You dont use dead bodies to advertise games. I say people sue the damn company and hit where it hurts ie money.

I think this is actually a PR stunt, i just found this reference to it on another site:

"The last time we heard about Acclaim's Adventures in Marketing, they were trying to put ads on tombstones. At least, they said they were, and that's virtually all it took to activate the scandal-friendly media." *shrug*

Well, if its a stunt. Then they won't really go through with it.
Stunts are ment to get people talking about it, like we are doing now. Free publicity and all that.
Eather way, it's still sick and wrong...

I don't think it's ever going to actually happen. But they don't need it to, just the suggestion of it is enough of a stunt to get all the publicity they need...

I find it impossible to believe this is anything other than either 1) a joke, or 2) a move by some PR idiot outside Acclaim to lose 'em some business. I know several of the PR folks at Acclaim, and they'd never sanction such rot.

If this is indeed true, I hate to sound like I'm defending these yokels, but there's no law (that I'm aware of) that says someone can't have or display bad taste.

I'm sure that it is not a crime or in voilation of any existing ordinances to advertise on a tombstone or gravesite because no one has ever done it before. Does that make it right? No, but that won't stop someone from trying.

...of the much celebrated but overly done case of Allen Iverson in Philly...

...with his shoe and game endorsements cashing in on the free publicity.
