6-6-06 Baby

This story shocked me, which is pretty hard to do. Baby born on 6-6-06, weighing 6 lbs, 6 oz, named Damien.

That's... Creepy.

Heh, I also just found out that the junior reverened at our church had a baby born on 6/6/06. Much to my father's chagrin (the two are good friends) I burst out laughing at the irony.

When ever someone says Damien it reminds me of Fools and Horses and Delboy and Rodney

Kind of cool really, this baby I mean

Oh, you better believe it. The parents might as well start looking for a school for non-Christian children right now. He'll be made fun of anyway, of course, as we all were. He'll be called names like 'freak,' 'momma's boy,' 'teacher's pet,' pushed around, beat up, wedgied, and generally taunted until I run home from school crying. Kids can be so cruel.

Okay, I can't believe that story. It's too much. Not only is little Damien born on 6/6/06, but he's 6 lbs 6 oz., the son of a woman who is 36 (6 x 6 = 36), who was "induced for six days," and Suzanne went into labour in the early hours and Damien was born shortly after 6am (which seems to conflict with the earlier Damien arrived at 6.59am). Too many 6's, too convenient.

Even moreso than the rest of us, poor little Damien will probably get bullied at school, and he will probably be screwed up for life by what his mother has done and will do to him. But I wonder if what sets him apart from everyone else--intangible though it may be--will give him the urge to become a celebrity or do great things. I'm not sure exactly what sets Ozzy Osbourne apart from everyone else, but he seems to take himself seriously when he calls himself "The Prince of ****ing Darkness", and no one would deny that he is a superstar. David Bowie had to have one of pupils partially removed following an injury, which makes his irises appear to be different in size and color. As Cecil Adams of The Straight Dope put it, "You can imagine Dave looking in the mirror and thinking, 'This is not the face of a guy who was meant to drive a beer truck.'"

How exactly is that different than any other kid?

Oh, he'll be bullied so much about that... Little kids always dive into that kind of stuff and find ways to check up on everybody's date, time and birthweight and quickly come up with those kinds of connections.

I remember bullying this one kid who was born on the 8th of august, 88, HH, Heil Hitler. It was fun. He was only 5 years old when a Jewish kid shot him...

I'm just poking PK...

Well I was born on Friday the 13th, was the 13th baby, and my mom was in labor for 13 hours (some other 13 things happened to but I forgot).

Blech, just reading the first half of that made me think... if his parents named him this, and he's made fun of for being Damien born on 6/6/06, maybe it will drive him towards that which he is being made fun of. I'm not saying he'll become the son of Satan, naturally, but it might drive him to do some of the horrible things he's supposedly supposed to do. It's that whole self-fulfilling prophesy thing; if you wind up believing in something so strongly, you may make it happen, consciously or otherwise. If all those kids manage to convince little Damien that he really was the son of Satan...
