The Thugee Chorus...tactical fun spoilers!!!

Post by UserUnfriendly »

ok, one of the most annoying things about the tactics mod, ascention, and other tactics mods is the monsters with mondo meelee skills rushing you...eclipse, for example, teleports you into a room with small area, so you cannot run away with your mage and sorc heavy party away so your fighters can hold them off while your mages start casting spells...

so i finally perfected the thugee chorus school of playing....

synchronized spells, cast via trigger, combined with low cunning and ai exploiting....

i call it the thugee chorus since a lich is pretty fragile and helpless, until one round after spawn, when it had a chance to cast some major buff spells...making them very very hard to kill until you get the buffs down...so my play style involves killing them fast before they get a chance to buff out....

for example, eclipse, i killed them all in less than one round...

i controlled the triggers, i rested in the cottage and precast all spells before stepping out to trigger eclipse, and each mage in the party had prot from magic energy, spell immunity evo...and my only non mage fighter had prot from magic energy and over 100% resistance to fire....

each mage had spell seq skull traps and chaincontingeny sunfires...

when i got teleported to eclipse, after the dialog, i triggered sequencers, killed half the eclipse party, and all the wraiths...next second the sunfires went off, killed everything left, except for a evil planetar, who fell to sola and moonblade...

improved abby, the skulls killed all the salamanders, and hurt abby enough to make him change, then the sunfires killed him and his buddy, the dragon...

see where i am going with this??? by using vicious and evil tactics, most battles are won in about 2 seconds, when massive damage hits the enemy who are literally mixed in with your party, way before they have any time to autobuff themselves to near invulnerability...the survivors are dazed and often spell disrupted, thus easy kills....

i really had some fun testing out this tactic, and retrying battles to get the maximum advantage for specific encounters....

ascention...4 of the five died instantly....and a second volley of skulls killed mel's demons....she was easy meat to breach and take down...

the really challenging battles involve the mod maker using a good mix of spell casters and meelee fighters to disrupt your formation, meelee fighters attacking your mages...using sunfires and skulls will blast away the meelee elements in the enemy mix, so you can then target his mages with YOUR meelee fighters,,,while your mages, who have just blown his meelee fighters into chunks, start breaching and remove magic volleys...

:p :D

this is by far the easiest way to take a high mage party thru the game...some of you who have played high mage parties already know some of this, but what i have are data specific to encounters...

for example, demons....use skulls...many are immune to fire, so hitting demogorgon, you need remove magic, skulls, skulls...

eclipse, sunfire really shined, killed the eclipse party dead fast....

sunfires for ascention, follow up volley of skulls for demons...

but having both is very important, magic damage resistant enemies are fire vulnerable, and vice versa... :p

You may have found the solution to the eclipse puzzle!

What's the composition of your party? Number of sorcs/mages, fighters, eg. Sunfire triggers for Ascension and and eclipse, I have yet to try; I have used summons up to this point. However, I may have downloaded a mod that prevents more than 5 summons at a time. Do you know how to remove the cap?

Much thanks in advance! ;)

"You may have found the solution to the eclipse puzzle! "

the other solution is telly field, cast via spell seq....makes party almost immune to meelee attackers for about 3 rounds...alson came up with that one...

sorc kensai, me,
sola
jahirea
aerie
immie
edwin (sorc)

the game always limits summons to 5...cast project image, and load 10 planetars for ascention...

might have gotten lucky..replayed ascention, and my first two volleys of sunfires and skulls only killed bathazar.,...wonder how i got lucky first time...oh heck, everyone was improved hasted AND wearing boots of speed, got to kill zone way fast before they started any buffing...

well, like i said, the secret is either kill before buffing, or use a lot of summons via project image to smother them....

How did you make a Sorcerer Kensai? Is that multi or dual?

Thanks!
