One aspect I am rather surprised has not surfaced (especially given the pedigree of some of the participants) is the nature of why religion came about to begin with. You have all touched on many of the fallacies, accuracies, misconceptions, inconsistencies, and many other wonderful notions you can a...

It depends on in what aspect DAO is disappointment. Graphically, yes, it may be, as at least in XBox version the graphics ain't the best you could get. Story, character development and general world side, no, the game ain't disappointing. It's actually the best we have seen since BG series and Fall...

the Scripts are a nice catch all mechanism, but no replacement for human touch. They can definitely save your ass given a brief oversight, but should not be relied on solely. I find they work better with the tank and main DPS, as they are often far less complicated builds to run, while it is often b...

Admittedly, the engine does appear quite dated, but mostly on account of the 5 year development period. Not to mention it embraces what appears to ailing RPG formula that Bioware, for all the good they have done, has failed to update in their games. It features the same hidden linearity, ambiguous m...

While I am unable to give specific strategies, I have definitely seen some clever uses of oft used spells. Things like Mage Hand, Enlarge/Shrink Items and the such. For instance, one mage in a game I was playing used mage hand to undo the straps an enemy fighter's armour. While not delicate enough t...

... glad to see you, Cruiser. Seems you haven't lost your touch. But where's the fish? Oh, don't look at me. Find someone else to slap your sturgeon with. :mischief: Academic studies must be causing me to forget things... Are you sure about that? I'm not trying to pretend I know better than you, it is just that I did not think so and would like more explanations if you could. I thought that with our freetrade system exporters or importers do not need to pay taxes. And if we take the exemple of video games, a seller ...

Can somebody explain to me why Canadians still have to pay more than Americans even though our currency is now higher? I had no problem paying a higher price when our currency was low, but now it kind of annoys me. I know this is not only a Canadian problem, some countries in Europe pay much more t...

I was glad to see both AvP2 and Fear on that list. Both of which, in my opinion, are some of the best mood setting games on the market. Shame AvP2 never really got the attention it deserved.

I think it was more a criticism of the MMO popularity, as opposed to RPG's. It just happens, though, that laymen gamers tend not to distinguish between online and off line RPG's (and Xan, once again, we are full agreement about Diablo). For instance, before games like Everquest became so mainstream ...

I think one of the issues which surrounds the FFVII mythos is that was the first of the (at the time) next generation of graphics, that it is happens to have been the only Final Fantasy game which was advertised. Usually the franchise simply gets by on its name, but with the switching of platforms (...

It has just always bothered me that FFVII continues to garner such praise, and yet very few people can back that praise up. Meanwhile, I can systematically dismantle all its 'bonuses'. Frankly, the game was subpar, and was not even that impressive visually for its time.

I was actually pleased with the titles on this list (minus Oblivion). It was nice to see some love to the classic Square games, especially Chrono Trigger and FFVI. It also pleased me immensely to see that for once someone saw through the hype that was FFVII.

What my group usually does for critical misses is as follows:

roll a d10, on a roll of a 1, the weapon is dropped. On a 2, the player hits themself. On anything else, each number corresponds to a another player (not the targeted enemy), and they get hit. On any other number number, nothing happens.

No, they pretty much raided them because they're illegal under federal law, which supersedes state law. If it was a question of clinics selling cannabis beyond legal uses, wouldn't it have made more sense to arrest those responsible for selling the drug? If, for instance, there was evidence of a cl...

It does not sound like the government raided them just because it is illegal, though. It sounds as though they targeted clinics which held the suspicion of selling it beyond the legal uses and channels. That does not sound like Tyranny at all.

keep in mind that con also affects your wound points. What this means is that one critical hit, and you only have 10 wounds points, which is not going to protect you for very long considering the inflated damage weapons deal. If you really want, look into the path which makes you a dex fighter. Ther...
