No arguments from me that it's a bad design. That kinda goes with the whole Bethesda package. Sometimes they do things that just leave you scratching your head. It's compounded by the fact that a lot of people never even got the notifications of any failed quests at that point.

Being a glutton for punishment I went on to Honest Hearts , which seemed to consist of travelling with some caravan guards guarding a non-exixtent caravan, find two dead bodies (Follows Chalk and Daniel) and then go home, nothing to see here! Killing Follows Chalk fails every quest line in Honest H...

I'm reading Steven Erikson's 'Malazan" series at the moment, and am enjoying it a lot. I think there are 10 books all told in the series. I t fits the epic part of your description. For my money, it's better than Martin in that the story is just as epic, but the characters aren't as bland and it jus...

Do followers have weight limit? Its getting annoying always having just under 10 kgs? or whatever the weight units are to get extra things with. Secondly leveling up stamina just so you can carry and sell dragon bones seems a little counter productive. I have the same problem when I create a new ch...

I have it for PS3. The game looks good on the system, but be warned that there is a serious framerate issue on the PS3 for a lot of users. After playing for awhile, as your save file gets bigger, the game starts going into major lag after very short periods of play. It can become unplayable in extre...

From what I can tell, enemy levels are fixed, but you see different enemies as you progress in the game (so you might face "bandit outlaws" or "bandit thugs" at higher levels rather than just basic "bandits"). SWC That's about what I've experienced too, with the addition of some higher level creatu...

If you notice you lost a companion while wandering around, choose to wait for an hour and a lot of times they will show up. If that doesn't work, go back to the Jarl in Whiterun. If you don't own a house, and she isn't dead, that is where she should be. You just may have to look around for her since ...

Older games that fit the bill would be the Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 and Planescape: Torment. You'll probably hear those games recommended a lot around here. There really isn;t much I can say bad about any of them and I spent embarrassing amounts of time replaying them. More recently would be Dragon Age...

You have to manually unlock shouts yourself. Go to your magic screen, scroll down to shouts, and select the shout you want to unlock. At the bottom of the screen there should be a list of what keys you need to press to unlock the shout, or check the manual. On the PS3, it's the R2 button, not sure w...

Wow, been a long time since I've been here, and yet some threads never die. One thing I've noticed is that video is taking the place of text in a lot of ways. Game guides are good, and I still use text based guides when I get stuck. But more and more it seems like people getting stuck in games are ju...

Are you talking about the area where the stones have symbols above them? If so, there should be five in all, and the object is to match up the symbols on each stone with the runes.

Do not date women who live within sight of your house/apartment. This makes it very difficult to hide from them the next day. Don't leave the dirty magazines out when your mother is coming over to vist. In fact, don't ever let your mother come to visit. Nothing good ever comes from a mother visiting...

If you're looking for a lot of conversations and depth along the lines of the original game, it doesn't seem to be there. These characters are not fleshed out to the same extent. I think some of it is tied into personal quests though. Anders seemed a bit more confortable after I did his quest anyway...

The Alienage has it's own seperate entrance in the Denerim Market area. You need to use that exit rather than the usual gate that you normally use to get there. It's along one of the walls, not too far from Brother Genitivi's house I believe.

the worst game I ever played was Football Pro 99 by Sierra Sports. It had been a good franchise, and had a pretty decent following, but that version was absolute trash.
