Well, Bloodlines really isn't a sequal to Bloodlines. They are very different types of games.

Personally, while I would love to see another installment in the VtM saga, I doubt it will happen. Bloodlines did not sell phenomenally well, and its development team has gone out of business. Perhaps more significantly, the VTM universe has officially ended, with the "Gehenna" chroncile having come out last year.

White Wolf has now moved on to "Vampire: the Requiem" which is another Vampire universe that resembles but is different from the "Vampire the Masquerade." It's been moderately successful. I wouldn't be surprised to see someone take a shot with that universe a few years down the road (or with a Werewolf or Mage type game - both of which have been redone, as well). However, with Bloodlines not being a huge success, I would expect any kind of Vampire game to be at least three or four years from development.

I'll have to go with Faust on this, unfortunately. The simple truth is that this game just didn't sell well even though it's a pretty good game at the core. I suppose most people were turned off by the fact that this game came pre-packaged with a bunch of little bugs. All the game-rating websites I go to claim it's a great game but burdened by bugs, which I can agree with. Troika going out of business doesn't help, either.

I'm honestly relying on the modding community out there to help me out. I love anything to do with vampires, and when I heard a vampire game was coming out, based on Valve's HL2 engine, I nearly crapped myself. I really don't want this game or series to die but it seems inescapable at this point. Hopefully modders can provide us with fresh material and work out the bugs in the game.

When I think about it, it seems to me it would be most interesting to make a DarkAges videogame. From what I've seen, Dark Ages: Vampire would be more interesting than Requiem (it might resemble Redemption a bit). And such a game could incude other Dark Ages 'classes' (Mages etc.) which could make the game even more interesting.

Moving this over to the RPG Discussion forum, but keeping a redirect.

Well, I don't think there is anything inherently uninteresting about Requiem. While Masquerade purists have been disillusioned with it, it's a very similar world that's probably a bit more "user friendly" than the Masquerade. The earliest setting developed for it, New Orleans, is actually very cool from what I've seen. I think the setting has a lot of potential.

However, I'd agree, that a Dark Age theme could make for an interesting video game. Though, much of "Redemption" was Dark Age in theme. Part of that's games problem was its too large of a scope, though. It probably should have stayed grounded in one age or the other. However, I really doubt there will be any kind of new game set in the old World of Darkness universe. Probably, eventually White Wolf will develop a new medieval theme White Wolf pen and paper game, as the first one was successful.

Personally, I would mind seeing Mage or Werewolf brought into console or PC game RPG form. I could see Mage, in particular, being successful, though it might become "Shadowrun-esque" in places (not that that is a bad thing).
