Can't find a game that's like that all so much. Most of them are all dark and gloomy. I don't know why that seems to be a req. when it comes to RPG's. | Sacred Gold maybe? It has lots of "little things." |

| | mmmmmm I loved the Divinity series, especially the first game, Divine Divinity and later the Beyond Divinity. Maybe you should try those. Good RPG games with solid stories, good action, replay posibilities, and a lot of hours of fun...
just my 5 cents...

Oblivion: OK, lighter for the most part
Morrowind: Dark
Diablo I/II: Dark
NWN/2: Dark
Fable:Light
KotOR/2: Futuristic, so its both.
The Witcher: Dark/Sometimes light
In my experience, it's seemed like a lot of them were dark and gloomy, both cosmetically and story-wise.
I'm not really big on top-downers. (I know, what's wrong with me?) I got into the RPG universe with KotOR, so maybe that's why.

The Witcher: Dark/Sometimes light | What I meant is the setting and the theme. Some examples I can think of:
Light: The Gothic series, Freedom Force, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fable, Two Worlds, Star Wars: KOTOR series, etc.
Dark: Fallout series, the Witcher, Planescape: Torment Quote:

| | I like the reply to play Morrowind, but why not work backwards towards the first one. Sure there will be challenges for the first two, but Arena is still free as far as I know and is quite playable using the DOSBox program. That should keep you busy for the next several months.

(it was my first post is like i lost some kind of virginity) | Seconded. DD has an awesome amount of detail and pretty decent quests. The whole world feels like it's a whole, not a random collection of towns. |
