Fun RPG advice

It's been awhile since I've been here -- just got my pc fixed. And I appologize if this isnt the correct place in the forums for this question. But it seemed the only place (if any).

Well, I'm looking to spend some $s. On an RPG. Buuuut, I don't have much, so I'm wondering what might be a good one. Now, game preference is very personnal -- its hard to predict what someone will like. My favorites have been BGII/BGIII and Arcanum for the PC. The involved storyline, and even multiple chances to develop a love story, is great (BG). On the consoles, I've really enjoyed the FF series (except that silly FF X-2) and Morrowind. Really hated the BG: Dark Alliance on the PS2. Just a hack&slasher.

So, any advice?

Hiya.

You should post this in the Game Discussion forum (further down the sub-forum list) - that would likely bring you more answers.

However, to give an answer anyways - You could try taking a look at SW:KotoR. It is a nice, although rather liniear action/RPG. (imo).
Also - if you don't mind older games as well - then try and get ahold of PlaneScape Torment or the Fallout (1+2) games.

(I do like that you have enjoyed BG3, seeing as that hasnt' been released )

moving the thread

Thanks for the advice. Guess I "oops'd' on BGIII. I meant the the last installment -- TOB I guess.

Is there a way for this thread to be moved to where it should be. I really dont want to "double-post." Oh, and I have KOTOR. Really fun game, but I've gone through it at least 4 times.

Definately give Planescape: Torment a try. And when Fable comes out in a few days defiantely pick that up.

Since you said you don't ahve much money, Fable could be out of your range. However, KotOR was released on budget earlier this month, or last month, I'm not sure.

As Xandax said, you should try Fallout 1 & 2. At least here, those are sold in one pack, including also Fallout Tactics and some other stuff. And this pack is very cheap (IMO).

If you liked the BG games and you liked Morrowind, you will like Gothic 2 - you don't get to do as much character customization, but the graphics, plot, and gaming will thrill you. And no, you don't need Gothic 1, although the characters and plot are carried over, it doesn't matter in the game.

And if you want something more Diablo-ish, in the style of BG and IWD, Neverwinter Nights is an easy pick.
