Question What's a Rogue???

What the hell is a rogue?
I know it's the name for thieves and bards, like warrior is the name for fighters, rangers, paladins and barbarians. But why is this a class?
Where did the thief go? And the bard?
Don't tell me I can't play no bard! Don't! Please... Don't let it be true! No bard? NOOO!!!

Rogue is just a collective name, like fighter. It is for all those with rather nefarious skills. It should include the Thief, Bards and Assassins with all their kits.

Just like preist is a collective name for clerics and druids.

Rogue used to be the name that was used for a class group, but this has changed with the release of 3rd edition.

The rogue class in the Pool of Radiance game will be similar to the classic 2nd edition thief. It will be a character with a set number of thieving skills that will improve as the character gains levels. See our own rogue page: http://www.gamebanshee.com/poolofrad...sses/rogue.php

This is however not same as the rogue class as listed in the 3rd edition Player's Handbook. Here you can customize your rogue by self selecting the skills that the character has. It is possible to create a rogue without any thieving skills.

The bard class will not be featured in the game. I am not entirely sure why they are leaving out certain classes. The only thing that I know for sure on the subject is that the bard, wizard and druid class will not be part of the game.

There are no longer class 'groups' like in 2nd edition. Each class is it's own entity, so you can multi class as a fighter/ranger, for example. You might want to, because fighters get more 'feats' than other classes.
In 3rd edition, there is no more dual class, anyone can multi class. They left out some classes, like wizard, in Pool of Radiance,
because they wanted to showcase the 3rd edition classes. At least that's what I read.
