Question Using Wands/Item effects ?

I have gotten a few wands early on that I cannot figure out how to "activate". Like the wand of magic missiles...how do I launch them at a monster?

Also, on a weapon it lists casts such a such a spell (level 20) or whatever. Is this just like 3rd edition rules where the spell effect is only on a crit or do you activate the spell effect? I have been fighting a lot of undeads lately, so no chances for crits.

Also, if armor/boots/whatever have a spell on them how do I use it?

To use any magic item (wands/books/amulet/weapons, etc) you must select them from the magic items menu, keep in mind though that you have to equip the items first, you can tell if an item is equiped if there is a "+ in front of the name. For example when you what to use the wand of magic missiles, go an select it from the magic items menu. when you select it for a second time you will be able to cast the spell, all you have to do is target something.

ah hah! you have to "equip it" twice. Not that makes sense. Thank you much.
