you should try solo'ing, make somthing like a fighter/rogue/cleric/sorcerer, or maybe a paladin/rogue/sorcerer with one level of monk

i tried a sort of solo once, with two characters instead of one, my first guy was a half elf lv 16 fighter/lv 12 rogue/lv 4 sorcerer and the second was a lv 16 cleric/lv 8 paladin/lv 8 monk

Soloed with a paladin/sorcerrer, was hell untill i got the arcane armor because a single classed paladin gets eaten alive but after you get the armor and about 10 levels in paladin and sorcerrer things just start to go down, with a charisma of about 26 your saves go through the roof.

Paladin gives you good fortitude and will ( if you took some wisdom of course ) sorcerrer will give you a lot of will saves, reflex save are a problem and considering how often people use lightning/fireball later on their a huge downside to the build but otherwise, this guy is just amazing.

Paladin/clerics are also very very good, cleric/sorcerrer is also interesting, but lacks good fighting abilities, paladin/monks never fail a save unless its a natural 1, there was a thread here long ago about someone soloing with a paladin/monk and becoming very powerfull.

And for real frustration and chalange play the game without the speed utility and with the first game version, battles go on forver.
