Let me start out by correcting a few bits:

Descent into Undermountain (Interplay), Blood & Magic (Interplay), and Birthright (Sierra) were sucky games.

SSI hasn't been the only one that has produced mediocre games in the past. The problem that SSI had in the past was that the things they published weren't innovative anymore. I played most games "old" AD&D games when I was bit younger than I am now, and at those times I enjoyed playing those games. Looking at everything that is available about the new Pool game, then I would say that we don't have to worry about anything.

Elminster's voice just is not what I ever expected his voice to be. The voice sounds more like something that I would associate with Khelben Blackstaff.

I am very interested in the correct history on the fall of Myth Drannor. If anyone has any corrections on what I posted on our website, then please go ahead and correct me.

In www.TSR.com is avaible for dowload FREE "cormanthyr, Empire of the elves" and "The Fall of Myth Drannor"
The fall, yes itīs true that the Passing of the Coronal(the leader)Eltargrim makes the beginning of the End, but was the Murder(unresolved) of his heir and last of the line, his nice Aravae that starts the Problems that make city Fall. The Title of Coronal is given by drawing a Elfblade called ArīCorīKerym (Rulerīs blade in elvish) so a sucersor must be chosen but no Elf could draw the blade that like Moonblade Kills the unworthy. afther the death of many Elves some of the non elf who lived at the city made their way to the Rule Tower were the Blade was, they were stoped at the entrace by the Elves. they tried to force they way up the tower but someone Cast a mighty spell destoying the tower and all inside. The blade and High Mages were untoched by the spell and hover above were the tower once stood, but the damage was made the distrust among races was now fully shown.
The High Court Mage, the Srinshee them seeing that none had provend worth, Drew the blade herself, but even before she put her hand on the Hilt, mighty spells were cast at her to prevent her of beconing Coronal, but she did draw the blade, but seeing what Myth Drannor was becoming she insted sayed that wend the people have proven their worth she would return then she, the blade and high mage vanish.
It was that events that prevented Muth Drannor from realizing the treat that the Army of Darkness was.
The army of Darkness was lead by a trio of nycaloths who have been imprisiond by the Elves in a Prison Above Myth Drammor. that trio had been summoned long ago by a Netherese archwizard looking for some of the nether scrolls who had been stolen long by the elves. The prison was invisible to all and prevented the trio from escape but like all prisons it had a key. the only key to freeing the trio was when a "Red Dragon that never knew malice or greed in its heart flies over the Coronalīs throne". a mage of the name of Saeval Ammath had procured a dragonīs Egg and used magic to change itīs nature, the dragon was a Red in apreance but he possed the Heart of a Gold dragon, the Drangon name was Garnet and he and the Mage became good friends. One night the dragon flew over Nyth Drannor alowing the trio to escape, them afther 1800 years seeing the city grew and prosper they only had a purpose. To destroy Myth Drannor they raise a army of orcs, giants, and other evil creatures, sommuned creatres of the lower planes and they move in to Cormanthor destroying all in their path.
The war lasted betwen 711 and 714, it costed the lives of the first Harpers and the elf (lady steel) that created they(they badge[even today] was her house Insignia), a chosen of Mystra (Symrustar Auglamyr), many elven villages, the city it self, and many more...
One of the last battle was betwen the last of the nycaloths and Captain Fflar, a unknown, even today, hero that lead the defendors of the city during itīs last days, were both vanished.Even whit the death of nycaloths the Army did not stop, the last suvivers left the city.
This is a very short desciption of the fall there is a lot more that happed

Question

Does anyone actually know if there is a Demo available for Pool of Radiance and if so where can I get it. Or Maybe.. How big is it? So far everything in here has been pretty vague.

I think that I can help you:

No there is not a demo. There is however going to be a playable demo of the first part of the game. This will however not be till late March at the earliest.

I don't know what size it is going to be.

In a article I found a link here posted that SSI used the same engine time and time and time again. even Bioware who were new at this(The made a very bad mechworrior-like game before goin in for AD&D were they revive the type of game) make a great job in BG and improved the engine for IWD and BGII. unlike Heroes of Might and Magic that by using the same game engine whit minor changes made a comercial suicide.
Hi,
The Darksun Games used a different engine from the RAVENLOFT games. And subsequent versions were enhancements on the original. Much like Bioware did with BGI, and BGII. And some were offshoots that used the same engine much like ICEWIND DALE and PS:T...all from your lauded Bioware and Black Isle. So don't say that Bioware doesn't resuse engines because they do http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/smile.gif Sorry just had to clear that up.

The original Pool of Radiance is also considered one the most faithful adaptations of an AD&D game. The Gold Box games were also best sellers. A little history for everyone http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/smile.gif

@Paobing, I've edited this post. According to the fourth rule, you're not supposed to advertize on the board. Here is the rule:

By the way, Thread Closed.
