Thumbs down Sound problem

The sound for PoR has suddenly started echoing as though there's an IRQ conflict or something. I haven't added any new devices lately. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Thanks.

What sound card to have? You can try and change the option for the sound card through the option menu within the game and see what happens.

It uses the Yamaha OPS3-SAx WDM driver. I can't find any sound options in the game except to control the volume for music and action.

Thanks

Have you got the latest drivers for your card?

I was wrong with the sound options in the game, the game does not let you choose the type of sound, it has been a while since i've played it, and my memory betrayed me.

I'm also having this problem. Not sure what the problem is however I did find out that my card is not supported any longer and is not DirectX 8.0 compatible. Check that by going to START/RUN and type in dxdiag. This will bring up the DirectX diagnostic window. You can then check your sound and video card for directX 8.0 or 8.1 compatibility which are the latest versions (I believe I am correct on that).

I know I need to get a new sound card..so maybe that's the problem. Good luck fixing it.

That's it! I was not using my prefered device in the control panel/multimedia settings. Thanks for your help and insight.
