Problems loading game

Has anyone had any problems with the game just quitting and closing on them? I think I got past that one, but my latest problem is that when I go to load either of my saved games it takes me right back out to the main menu - I downloaded the patches but it still does it when I try to load my old saved games. Am I totally screwed and have to start back from the beginning?

Never had those kinds of problems and I'm over half way through second time around. What I do have a problem with is that it will quit on me, usually in the middle of a battle, and send me back to my desktop. For that reason I do save alot and, because it doesn't happen often, I can live with it. On advice from Cheat, another player, I did go into Options and closed off all sound. Not being a techy I'm not sure why that helps....maybe he can help you further...luck.
