I don't know whether or not this goes for Lay on Hands, but there have been a number of reports from people whose clerics can't Turn Undead, and that is a definite bug. I haven't experienced it.

Another possibility is that your Paladin had his charisma or wisdom drained, in which case you'd need a restore spell/potion/wand. Fought any shadows lately?

I believe it's one of the bugs they're working on for the 1.3 patch. The 1.2 patch (corrupted savegames) should be out in a week.

It may also have to do with a low charisma. My paladin did not have the lay of hands until i used a ring to boost my charisma. I think this also goes for turning undead.

Lay Hands is your level multiplied by your charisma bonus. At 12 charisma you get a +1 bonus. So, a level 5 Paladin with 12 charisma can Lay Hands 5 times a day.

Wooly,

I think it is charisma modifier multilyed by level gives you amout of points they can heal, but i believe that Paladins can only lay hands once a day.

You are right Vigiliant! Now I remember why I never use Lay on Hands. With a level 16 Paladin with 16 skill I can lay hands for 16 healing points, once a day. A salve is much more useful to me.

This is just plain ridiculous! A Paladin's main attribute is his/her WISDOM. 3rd edition rules are a joke. They base a Paladin's ability to lay hands/heal on Charisma???? Wow, who were the jokers that thought this up??

Also, going back to a known bug that was NOT fixed w/ v1.4 patch, the Sorcerer ability to cast spells. Like a few others I discovered after casting my level one spells with my created Sorcerer that I am not recovering those spells any longer. Doesn't matter how often I rest etc, etc. I did read again about the ridiculous use of Charisma to determine what this spellcaster can and cannot do. Irregardless, Intelligence should drive any character with ability to deal with the arcane arts. Just another goofed up change w/ 3rd edition rules. Well anyway, I did check the Charisma on my Sorcerer and it sits at 13. This is well above 10 and yet I am not regaining my ability to cast anything beyond Cantrips.

Someone tell me what the heck is going on here and if there have been any further fixes/patches developed. Also, has anyone created a Trainer/cheat for this game? I do miss how you could modify stats w/ Unlimited Adventures and some of the other goldbox games. :-(

HELP!!!!

Thanks,
Yaz

For an editor go here:
Sorcerer's Place - Pool of Radiance: RoMD Editors, Hacks, Trainers & Mods

Regarding the 13 CHA - if you want to have that sorceror cast spells of all available spelllevels later in the game then he needs a higher CHA. He can cast only spells of spelllevel 3 with a CHA of 13 even if he gains levels - unless his CHA is somehow raised. Imagine a level 16 Sorceror who can only cast level 3 spells

The bug you mention as still present with patch 1.4 - I have not met that bug. My Sorceror can cast all spells of all spell levels, rest and then has them all again. To check that it has no other reasons: Have you tried to let the Sorceror cast a spell outside combat? If so then only those spells are available that can be cast outside combat (e.g. no Magic Missile outside combat) and if your sorceror does not know any non-combat spells then no spells will be available to cast outside combat.
