Question Newbie

Ok I'm new to the whole D&D thing and never played PnP before. Is there someone/somewhere who can explain the combat system. eg. Sneak attacks - do you just have to approach from behind?, being caught Flatfooted, Flanking, can you direct attacks to the head/arms/legs etc? Some of the Power attacks? In the manual it just says stuff like increased damage at the expense of accuracy, what does that actually mean in terms of dice scores? Thanks for the help.
