lower cellar

i just defeated the arracats in the lower cellar and got the sunshine staff..the question is the game keeps crashing to the desktop during and afer the encounter..i'm running winxp in compatibility mode and seems to work ok except for this area..any suggestions??

Do you have any patches for the game installed? If you don't check out the sticky thread on top as of where to get the latest patch. The patch states the fixes some random crashes at the catacombs, maybe it will solve yoru problems.
