Help!!!

I am stuck. I used the key of dead in the first dungeon, saw 4 skeletons, freaked, and closed the door. Now, after fighting as far as I can go through the key of the living door, I need to go through the door of the dead. The problem is, since I shut the door, and closed and opened the game several times since the time I opened the door, my key is gone from my inventory, nowhere to be found where it was found originally, and the door is now locked. I now have no way to continue on in the game. I do not want to quit and restart as I already have over 9 hours in gameplay involved. Is there any way around this? I have the 1.4 patch installed, which was supposed to fix the problem, but apparently did not. Thanks for any help you can give me.

You might have accidentaly sold the key to a merchant, so try to find it in his inventory, otherwise im not 100% sure but you can try to bash the door down.

nope, can't bash the door, and the key isn't in the merchant's inventory. Please help!

that happened to me once, you can't get in there now, game glitch, you can only start over, but there isn't much down that way, some low level undead, a few orcs, and a wraith guarding some unimportant treasure

thanks! I ended up restarting anyways... I hate leaving anything undone, + I was curious what was inside the ancient dwarven chest. Thanks for the help.
