Actually you need the hinged device in order to get a new gem of the Weave.

You have to visit Ironbar at the House of Gems after Eversong requested for you to find a new gem. He will give you the Hinged Device you need to get down to his chamber and get the new Gem of the Weave.

the funny thing is that i have been visiting ironbar, but he didn't give me any hinged device! or maybe i've been stupid enough to have sold it or something. the only thing he does 4 me now is trying 2 sell me equipment i don't need. but thx anyhow. i'll check with duvas in stillwater, maybe i dropped the device 2 him by coincidence!?
