Fight under the castle

Hi,

New to the forum I've been playing PofR a few months now (have played some BG and NWN also). After much trial and error (and a few helps from the Walkthrough), and I've finally made it to the tunnels under the castle.

Thanks,
RB

ps - I edited this after reading some posts that said something about not having spoilers in the post about the game -maybe that's why nobody replied. BUT - I finally beat the fight and am moving on to actually beating the thing!!!

I guess....

Nobody knows how to help me with the fight Oh well..... guess I'm going to have to try it again on my own. But I'm really getting frustrated with the fight.

Thumbs up

Like what would you like to know?? Couple of hints that helped me out. First, weapons, cause spells don't work. My strongest was an Orc and he used the Draedsweord found in the Prisons room 4. And he also wore the Daemonclaws (gloves). Then make sure the other two have the Elven platinum-Plated Poleaxes that you can by from the friendly Ormyrrs in Sullymarsh. I used my three strongest as frontal attack and the other three as backup with lots of salve of full healing that you can buy at the same place. The first three should should share all the Potions of full healing in case they need it. And just before the last fight my cleric loaded everybody up with friendly spells...
Go get him...!

Thanks for replying like I said in my other post, I finally got past that fight. I'm headed into the next to the last fight -and it's a tough one, too. I asked my husband about it and he told me that I actually got further than he had LOL. He'd played it a LONG time ago, and never bothered to finish it lol

I finally won the final battle myself a couple nights ago. I started with six guys and ended the battle with just my rogue/ranger and a lucky shot with her shortbow. Do I still need to complete all of the quests to actually win the game? (e.g. Find all the water bells)

Winning the game

You should have gotten a screen after finishing the final "boss", saying something like "congratulations you have won". One of the features of the game is that it lets you wander around after winning in case you still have some unfulfilled quests. This is a nice feature that the Infinity game engine used in BG/IWD/etc. doesn't have. But doing these undone quests is not necessary to win. They are fun I think though. I enjoyed doing the water bells.

Talking I Did It!!!

I did it !!! I beat the big ol' bad dragon!!!! (doing a happy dance

It said I could go back and do any unfinished quests, and I only had one -the one in the cavern -but it wouldn't let me do it Guess I didn't get something I needed before I went in, and I didn't see a way out? I may try to see if I can figure it out later.

This is the FIRST one of these type games I've ever beaten!!!! (and my hubby hasn't even finished it yet lol)

Congratulations

Congratulations Baron,

Although the game has bugs (mine kept crashing) and has a lot of levels to complete, I really liked the storyline. It is a long haul to finish it but I think that makes it more of a victory to savor.

Thanks

Thanks, maybe someday I can finish Balder's Gate or one of the others we have. I was almost to the end of that one, when we had major PC problems (in trying to fix them, my PC decided to reformat itself! Was trying to resintall some files from tech supports directions, it locked up and when it restarted, it decided to format -grrr).
