Can't fall into Ancient Tomb??

My friend and I are playing POR together (2 heads are better than one in this game) and he said that he went to the place where you fall into the Ancient Tomb, but his guys never fell. The ground collapsed under him but then nothing. Since then he has gone on (because he didn't think anything of it) and has saved over his previous game. How is he supposed to get into there? It won't let him fall in there on purpose and the only other way in there is thru a song glyph, which you don't learn how to pass until you get into the Ancient Tomb! Anyone have any other ideas?

There is a door out of the tomb, but I'm not sure if you can enter that way. Yea, after I had originally fallen in I tried to go back but I couldn't and it's been a while since I've been at the surface so I couldn't tell you where the door out was.... GOT IT!!! I'm pretty sure it comes out behind the elven tree stump, just like everything else. Sorry, I don't remember exactly what's in there, but it's only one floor. And I think it's just a side quest but I could be wrong. Sorry this happened, and I hope this doesn't mean starting over. But if you really don't wanna start over, but still wanna try to fall in. Think of the date of your last save game and restore your computer to that date. It might work.
