Books...city records

Anyone know what the books of city records are good for?
I just finished the game and I have these books that I collected and I don't know what they're for!

Also, Isn't Kya Moradryn supposed to attack you at the end battle and not just the dragon? I defeated the dragon, but she's still standing there>.....???

I never found any use for these books either.

How did you got to fight the dragon before you kill Kya????

there a whole cut-scene for that. did you destroyed the Gem of the Weave??

Here's what I figure happened. I had the sword of the eye and played the rest of the prison level for a while, saved and left it for the evening. When I reloaded the save game afterwards, I no longer had the Baneblade Faervian in my inventory, therefore, not able to bring it to the halls of light. So I kept going. I got to the end scene and the dragon attacked me. Well, I whooped him but couldn't do anything else. Although, Kya is still there, the gem's still there, but the narrator said that I had saved Myth Drannor! All very peculiar!

This is very strange indeed since Kya hold the Gauntlets of Moander you need to destroy the pool

. And i don't think that the Baneblade faervian(sword of eye) has anything to do with it because you need it only to obtain the Baneblade Morvian, expect if this messed up the flags of the game
