A Few Questions

I've had this game for ages now, but I only got a computer that can run it without crashing a lot. Well anyway, I have a few questions about it. I have just cleared the Main Halls and now I'm starting on the Halls of Stone.

1) Are the dice rolls messed up? It just doesn't seem right. It's not happening as much as it used too, but when I first started I remember trying to hit a zombie. I needed to roll a six or higher to hit it. It was about four times in a row that I rolled less. Prehaps I'm just complaining, but I do remembering another thread from a long time ago (not in this forum however), discussing this issue and I wasn't the only one who thought so. Another interesting issue was that you rolled better when the Show Dice Rolls option was turned off. Anybody know if this is true or false?

2) While most of my characters are fine, a few of them aren't. I only have only one melee fighter while all the rest of them uses ranged attacks because of their poor strength and AC. Is there a way, I can increase their dexterity score, even temporary? It's about an 80% precent chance to hit these monsters in this area using these characters.

3) Sometimes I get the message something like this: "You weapon fails to damage this opponent". This happens when attacking Shadows and any other monster that drains ability scores. It appers to be completely random too. This is when I have rolled a higher score then their AC too.

4) Another odd thing I have noticed about the rolls, is that I've had a few times where I have rolled higher then their AC and it stills "misses" the target. This doesn't get me a reason why or anything, just that green Miss text over the monster. Is this just a bug?

Thank to anybody who replies.

P.S. I'm playing the lastest version of the game.

1. Rolls are random, but sometimes they apear to be jacked, it happens.

2. Most casters have level 2 spells that increase stats, cats grace, bull strength etc.

3. Incorporeal opponents like shadows and wraiths have a chance to evade attacks and cannot be harmed by anything thats less then +1 enchantment.

4. If you get a roll of 1 you will always miss or fail the action you attemp, saving against a spell attacking an enemy etc, regardless of weather you would succeed normaly.

IE target AC = 20 your AB is 20, if you roll a 1 on the attack roll you will still miss.

2. Every four levels you will get a chance to raise your character's stats.
There are quite a lot of amulets and rings that increase stats while equipped.
Later you will find other people who can join your party. If your characters are weak you can replace them then.

Sometimes I get thesame your weapon fails to blablabla text when fighting a master shadow, while I'm fighting with a +3 weapon. And then another hit does succeed. Is this a bug?

Nope incorporeal opponents have a chance to evade all weapons regardless of their bonus and cannot be harmed by anything thats not at least +1.
