Walking Backwards

I just got this game today after many years of not playing it, but I have an issue with the characters in the game. If they are walking at all angles left it's ok, but when I move them right they don't turn around, they just walk backwards.
So they are facing left all the time pretty much.

I can't remember this been the case before. It's so annoying, my whole party look like idiots. Is it a known bug? Can I fix it, please help?

I have it patched and with the resolution mod, and I've re-installed it all twice now and it's still the same.

Any ideas what's wrong with it, anyone?

Yes.

At first I thought it was the mod. But I think it started when I updated my graphic card drivers.
My card is NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX. It might not be my card, I have no idea at this point. I originally installed the game and ran it to see if it was ok, and there was nothing wrong, so it's probably something I did after that right? All I've done is install mods and updated my graphics card.

After looking everywhere I was lead to this forum, http://www.shsforums.net/index.php?showtopic=30840&st=0 and the nvida fix in the OP post, I installed that too, but it made no difference.

I'm stuck.

Ok I found a fix. It was so simple,

# Why are the sprites on screen walking backwards?
Unfortunately, some video cards process sprite animations poorly resulting in animations not displaying properly in the game. Contact your video card company and get the latest drivers for your video card. If this does not fix the problem, go to the video options menu in the game and turn on software mirroring. This will allow sprite mirroring to be handled through software rather than through hardware acceleration.

I nearly cried at one point, but it's ok now, it's working fine again! I can now play the game I've been thinking about for ages!
