undo repairs - Alley of Lingering Sighs

please excuse me for this awkward question, but i can't undo the repairs.
i've spoken with the dabus and got him to enter the building with the dead one. i got the hammer and the crowbar, but i can't use them on the repairs. when i click on the question mark sign on those repairs i just get a description in them and than only one option - leave.
how do i undo them?

If I recall correctly, you need to click first on the tool in your inventory, and then the repair site.

it doesn't work.
i even spoke to dakkon in order to change my profession from mage to fighter so i could equip myself with the hammer and crowbar, and than attack the repairs
but it is not possible.

Try putting the item on the ground, then clicking it and clicking the repair area.

The crowbar is the thing you get inside the house, right? And are you SURE that you are at the right places? I recall having problems with this part during my 2nd playthrough as well ;<
