Spells wont work?

Hi guys, I just started playing this game (please dont post spoilers in here) and i just completed mebbeths quest to learn magic/the art.

So.. I go to my mage spellbook, i click the spells to the left side of the book. My mage is currently level 3.

Anyways they dont show up in the Spell Select part (right click Nameless One, click explosion sign)

Am I doing something wrong, how do I make this work?

Help appreciated, im in love with this game but its driving me mad that i cant use my spells.

Do the spells appear as "solid" and colorful or are they dotted and faded? Did you rest before trying to cast your spells?

They appear as faded/dotted in the left side of the book.

I suppose that might mean they are.. passive? of a sort?

Anyways thanks alot for wanting to help me

I just tried resting and I found out how it works
