permanently losing Morte.. twice.. help :D

Hi there.. amazingly, this is the first time I've played through this game.. and I'm doing it all sorts of out of order, since i'm not trying to avoid following walkthroughs and such...

I've lost Morte twice, and this last time, he was carrying a significant amount of important items .. so i'm hoping I can get him back.

First time I went down into the Tomb where only Nameless One can go, and when I came out, Morte was stuck inside a wall, where I couldn't talk to him to get him to rejoin the group. I ended up using the book of cheats to summon a new Morte. The second time, as I'm entering the area of town where he gets skull-napped, when I convince Lothar of the Hill People (ha) to give him back, he says that Morte would be upstairs where I came in, but he's not.

help!!

No. Walk out of the house, Morte should be there.

Poo. I searched the entire town area, and no Morte. When I get around to playing again, I'm keeping all the useful items on myself, and the NPCs get to be the carriers of all the bits of junk to sell.

Out of curiosity, how did you locate him again the first time? I mean, in this situation he's suppose to be in Lothar's house. I've hard that he occasionally gets trapped in between the walls of neighboring buildings and what have you. So, I would encourage you to scour the area very carefully for him. Otherwise, I'd encourage you to go back to an earlier save before he released Morte and try again.

Obviously, if you have the four disc edition of PS:T, make sure you've installed the official patch. And, regardless of what edition you've got, install Platter's Fix Pack, as well. The patches sometimes catch annoying bugs.
