Post Manual wanted.

Hi there!

I've ordered the game (not received it yet), but the only copy available was a "White Label" edition (by Virgin). As you might know, these editions are coming plain: just the CD(s), meaning: no manual for me.

And the question is: does anyone knows a place where I could download PS:T manual? Do you know whether there exists such a thing available, in a first place?

I'd be greatly grateful for any info!

MTIA.

Cheers

The manual is on the CD. It is in CD number 1 in the folder named "Manual". The manual is in PDF format so you will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed in order to open the manual.

The game itself will teach you as you go, especially when you talk to the first few trainers - pay attention to what they say about changing your class.

Do you mean in all editions or in the White Label ones?

I don't know if the manual is included on Disc 1 in all editions, but it's included in mine. I have the 2-CD version of Torment. It was bundled with a game called Soulbringer. All that came with the package was the box, a jewelcase, and the discs. There's a copy of the manual (a .PDF file) on Disc 1. I suspect that you will receive the same version I have. If that's the case, then the manual will be on your CD.

I wasn't aware that the manual was available to me until I read this message thread. When I started playing the game, I knew almost nothing about it, and actually, I liked it that way. When the Nameless One woke up in the Mortuary, he had no idea what was going on, and neither did I. That made it easy to get into the story.

I do have one complaint about the manual: it doesn't seem to have lists of spells and their descriptions. I know, I know, I'm supposed to learn things as I go, and everything's supposed to be a big mystery. But I'd like to have something to refer to after I've seen the spells in the game and need help keeping track of everything. I suppose I can find a list that somebody made on the internet, but I haven't looked for one yet.

No, I'm afraid I won't. You live in the States and I live in Europe. The package you're describing is only available for the States. Round $ 10.00 at the moment -- is that correct?

In Europe, the only edition I have tracked available at the moment is Virgin's White Label. The original edition is out of stock (even in Amazon.uk. there was neither edition available). I bought IceWind Dale 1 in such an edition a month ago. It costs less, but I will always prefer the original ones.

Cheers

As Platter says--at least, in my experience, too.

Although I don't have the game, I think I heard at a lot of places that the manual doesn't have much info in it. (BTW, I'm trying to find the game. )

Yes, I have heard the same thing. No comparison whatsoever to BG2 manual.

And, I hope you find a copy of the game. Look in on-line stores too.

Aubrey, I'm glad you received your copy of the game and started playing it. In another message thread, you said you've made it to the Lower Ward already. It sounds like you're making good progress. I hope you enjoy the game!

BTW, what version do you have? I have Version 1.10 on two CDs, which is the last version ever released.

You might want to use the unofficial Torment Patch Fix that Platter created. I just remembered that he gave us the link to it when he fixed a bug that sometimes occurs in the Silent King's throne room. Good work, Platter!

@ VonDondu --

Oh, it's an excellent, amazing game, and I have been playing it since the day I received it. The story fascinates me, and I prefer the talking (and reading) than fighting. I suppose I'll tell more when I finish it.

It's the version 1.1 (that's what the Readme says). Actually, the package contains 4 CDs (PS:T), plus 1 more which contains the manual and a patch for the game.

Cheers
