How do you use Rat Charm?

Got something called a Rat Charm from Barking-Wilder after joining Xaositects and showing him rat tails. Any idea how to equip or use this particular item? Thanks!

I think you use it like you'd use a potion or any healing thing; you can equip it in the usable item slots.

Doesn't seem to fit into any slot, and is a fiery unusable red for all 3 of my classes. I wonder if having multiple factions is making it buggy.

Charms aren't useable. You usually wear them, as earings, though some, like the Clot Charm, are consumed.

The Dirty Rat Charm gives +10% stealth, +5% pickpocket, and -1 Charisma to all thieves. (Non-thieves can't wear it.) The Cranium Rat Charm gives +5% Lore, +5% Detect Traps, and +1 Intelligence to any characters.

My apologies for not being more specific. The Rat Charm I'm referring to is http://www.gamebanshee.com/showshot....s/ratcharm.jpg
which is a unique item given to you from only Barking-Wilder if you're a Chaosman, not just any dirty or cranium rat charm (which actually are consumed and not equipped by the way).
I should probably note that I have the 1.1 patch as well as Platter's 1.37 patch.

I never became a chaosman so I'm not sure. Wouldn't you just equip it like another equippable item?

I'd guess it's because of multiple factions.

Too bad, but it stands to reason, I guess. Much of the gameplay, after all, is about making choices, and that includes the factions.

Actually I had the same problem when I went through the game the other week and had the same problem. I was a Xaositect/Chaosman and had acquired the rat charm, but coul not equip it. Tried a bunch of stuff, it turned out you have to NOT be part of the faction anymore. When I abandoned them to join the Godsmen, I was finally able to use the rat charm.
Weird, most probably a bug, but since Xaositects don't make ANY sense, who knows, it could be on purpose

Yea, you actually can't get that charm without the Fix Pack. When the fix for Barking's dialog was put in so that you can get the charm, I didn't notice that the item itself was bugged as well. Like the above poster said, it's only usable if you aren't currently a chaosman.
