| | | Star wars d20(saga edition)builds, and group This thread is all about builds, your own or your friends` builds. This thread has no other meaning that id like to know about effective builds and suggestions for my build, that i guess is pretty boring Im also looking for an online playing group that would accept a naabster like me
Jedi8/soldier1/scout1/jedi knight10
Starting attributes:
Str 15
dex 17
con 10
int 13
wis 16
cha 11
The idea is to make him dex based char wielding dual sabers. For talents, i have thought to take ataru and severing strike for example. If i take the multiattack profiency, does it give me bonus ab when im wielding 2 weps(without penalties), and its a full round action?
I will be happy for any posts. |

| | | I'd suggest dropping STR & upping CON. HP & Vitality are much more important than those few points to damage, especially with something as damaging as a sabre. Maybe 13 STR & 12 CON & Power Attack somewhere.
Warning: this is from my knowledge of d20, I haven't got the opportunity yet to read through Saga. |

| | I got those numbers from dice rolls, but well see... Nah, i dont find anything NOT USEFUL to change it to con... But it doesnt matter, this is gonna have 20 more reflex def(thats the defence in saga edit) than Darth vader has ab, and he is pretty much the best melee combatant in the end of the book(it has the main chars stats from the movies). And all but 1 level of his is gonna get 1d10 hp. Ill try it this way first and then if he sucks ill make my next char have more const. and the str is for bar brawls and lightsaber does less dmg than even blaster pistol... i have pretty much thought all the feats already. |

| | | keep in mind that con also affects your wound points. What this means is that one critical hit, and you only have 10 wounds points, which is not going to protect you for very long considering the inflated damage weapons deal. If you really want, look into the path which makes you a dex fighter. There should be, I believe, a fighting style for Jedi which allows the use of dex for the damage modifiers as well as to hit modifiers. |

| | | There are also Force Powers (I think) and most certainly Grenades and such that cost you HP. A d10 for HP is all good, but it says 1-10, so what if you get unlucky and roll several ones?
At least in the previous edition, HP fueled Force Powers, so another reason for CON.
As far the barbrawls... Doesn't Weapon Finesse cover ALL finessable weapons, including unarmed strikes? |

| | | There are no wound points in the saga. con doesnt help fp at all, cha and wis do. Ataru is the fighting style which adds dex to damage but it only works with lightsabers.
Dex does give ab for fists but those few str are for dmg.

| | | What? CHA & WIS help HP? What kind of crappy system is that? "I'm pretty, so you can't kill me?" What does CON do then?
Anyway, if that's the case, I'd rather raise CHA & WIS instead of STR. Those two STR points won't make a lot of difference. Use Power Attack for damage. (If that still exists.) |

| | | I apologize, I misread. Still, I think that HP is the most precious resource, so a lot of CON is an asset. Also, Power Attack is one of the best ways to deal damage, even (or especially with?) with a DEX based build. |

| | Im not exactly aiming for a lot damage, just ab and def. And pow atck lowers ab when used... hmm we;ll see about taking it, i think i might have one spare feat... The rules say i can reroll my ability scores, i;ll do that now.
THE NEW ABILITIES:
18
17
16
16
16
14 :O

| | High AB is good and well, but what's the point if it takes 8 hits to kill a trooper?
Anyway, I'd go for 14 STR, 18 DEX, 16 CON, 16 INT, 17WIS , 16 CHA.

| | Thats what i was thinking too... and it wont take 8 hits to kill anything with sabers, ataru adds dex mod to dmg... But iŽd still rather take 16 str than cha... i would have had more than enough use the force-skill with 11(or 12) cha. |

| | Especially with DEX to damage, I wouldn't worry too much about STR. I keep repeating: Power Attack! I'd rather have more skill points, force points, or better social attributes than 1 extra point to damage. But that's just me. |

| | | I bought Saga yesterday. I skimmed through the book, so I have a better understanding of the rules now.
Why do you take so many classes? I really don't see a point in it.
I'd more than ever argue for dropping STR, since you add half your level to damage. STR 13 is the minimum for Power Attack. Especially potent with a single sabre in twohanded fashion. Same applies to Ataru.
Also, CON keeps ruling supreme. More HP are never bad and that Damage Tresshold seems a pain.
Also, I'd consider dropping the idea of dualwielding and take the Rapidstrike feat. This also gets you two attacks, but as a standard action. Granted, they have to be against the same target, but in 99% you'll be attacking the same target with both attacks from Dualwielding anyway.
Don't underestimate the importance of CHA. I think it's superior to INT for a Jedi.
Edit: I found out why the level of Soldier: to make use of the Armour feats, right? I'd advice then for getting the Armoured Defense and Improved Version and getting a Stormtrooper Armour. +2 Fort Defense, a total of + 6 Reflex Defense ( Half of Armour and 3 max Dex), +2 on Perception, Lowlight vision and Handsfree com sounds pretty good a deal.
As a sidenote: I don't like the way they handled Trained/Untrained skills. Apart from that, the rules are excellent.
