Thumbs up Alrighty

We have a new forum, always a plus when it come to roleplaying.

For me, this forum adds a place to discuss Vampire.
Definately a plus as I like playing Vampire.

Oh, and: first post by me. Wohoo!

Okay, Rob-hin - is the new version of Vampire worth it? I've had a skim through the books, and it seems to be using the same d10 system, which is - in my opinion - broken (because the more points you have in a skill, the harder it is to do something).

Now I've never run a WoD game, only played in them, and I have not been a big purchaser of the books. So what is the new version like? Do you guys love it or hate it?

Cheers,
TGHO

PS: First post bah!

I haven't had a change to try it yet, my new WoD book is screeming for some action.
I'll buy the Vampire book later.

D10 isn't great but I like it's style. It's very free and initiative is very logical. Plus, it requires less math skills, some people like that. I do.

I'm not too hung up with the math, but I can see where it would be useful. Pity you don't live in Oz mate, you could start up a game! Been a long time since I played Vampire.

Keep me posted on what you think of the books - whether or not they are worth buying.

Cheers,
TGHO

I've started reading the WoD core book yesterday and I'm already full of ideas for a new Vampire-quest. I ran one in the recent past, and I thought it was pretty successful.
About the d10-system...I don't really have an opinion on that. I'm always the ST and therefore don't care for the rules that much. Well, in combat that is. In combat, I'm just trying to make things as fun and exciting as possible. I do pay attention to my dice rolls and to the rules, but only for really extreme cases (such as criticals etc).

BTW: I do that with D&D aswell. Just run an exciting combat. However, I'm more familiar with the D&D rules and therefore I keep myself to them more often than with Vampire (it's a subconscious thing I guess , because and don't really do any math while DM-ing a combat in D&D)

@Rudar
Yeah, I tend to be more story orientated rather than roll orientated. Bugs one of my players, as he is a rules-lawyer, and I keep changing the rules session to session, depending on story demands!

So, what are your impressions of the new WoD books? How do they compare to the previous edition? What's changed? Are they improved, or not?

Cheers,
TGHO

@jopperm2
Nope. Is it anything like the Slayers Guide to Female Players? Now that was a laugh! Made my wife double over in hysterics.

Cheers,

It's exactly like it except for Rules Lawyer.. A must read. It includes tips for dealing with them as well..

Nothing as good as Power Word: Fine though.

I'm going to go ahead and close this thread now since it's just spam.
