60's: Proably Beatles, though I listen hardly any music from that time...
70's: no favourites...
80's: Tarot - Very good metal band, I especially liked their singer's voice (Marco Hietala, who now also plays and sings in Nightwish)
90's: Nightwish - My all time favourite, the band which led me to the metal music. There is just something beutiful in their music and especially in lyrics...

@Seejai...
You know, you could have used edit button instead of posting new post only one minute from your previous... double posts aren't too liked here if hose could have been avoided...

I always thought Iced Earth Started in 1984. But that was probably before they took the name Iced Earth then.

My favs:

60's - Moody Blues (They were strong in the early 70's too but started and had several great albums in the late 60's).

70's - Pink Floyd (They started in the 60's too but most of the stuff I remember of theirs seemed to be 70's vintage)

80's - Alan Parson's Project (Not sure when they began but most of their good stuff I remember from the 80's)

90's - Savage Garden (Seemed like most of the stuff I liked from the 90's is by groups that were big in the 80's)

60's- Creedence Clearwater Revival...ok, so they barely made it, but they hit with three almuns in '69 so that fits. Rolling Stones would be the other band from this era, and I'm tempted to put Bobby Fuller Four on the list simply because they never got a chance to do anything after "I Fought the Law".

70- Judas Priest. Zepplin and Sabbath can be mentioned, but Priest is my band.

80's- Motley Crue, Metallica, Megadeth, and Great White. I know it's an odd mix.

90's- Cry of Love, Black Crowes, Alice in Chains
