Your Very Own Game: Make Millions$$$ Or Crash and Burn...

Ringworld Larry Niven.

The idea here is to choose your favourite fanatasy book or action series and form a micro concept of it as it would be applied to your game. It's not hard work, just choose a book a comic whatever and show why it would work as a game: RPG, Action whatever.

Quote:
The main protagonist is Louis Wu, a periodic adventurer-genius in the midst of celebrating his 200th birthday. Despite his age, he is in perfect physical condition due to a combination of superior genetic makeup, advanced medical technology and boosterspice, a drug that extends human life. He extends his birthday by teleporting ahead of the terminator from party to party across Earth, but it so happens that he is bored with life and eager for new challenges, so Nessus has little difficulty recruiting him. The character Nessus is a Pierson's Puppeteer. Essentially Puppeteer's are xenophobic, only a very small minority of Puppeteers interact with "potentially dangerous" alien species. Nessus, being a "mad" Puppeteer, is given the task of assembling a team to explore the Ringworld, to see if it poses a threat to his species.

I wonder will this be the right section of the forum for this?

Does it have to be a fantasy book? You see, I have an idea for Agatha Christie's Miss Marple to be the main character in a sort of action/rpg. The game starts off in the village of ...what the heck is the name of her village??? ah, my memory is shot. Lettucehamshire?

Anyway, the game starts in her village and she is given a ....quest. Of course. Her melee weapons are knitting needles and umbrellas, and her ranged throwing weapon is a ball of pink yarn. Arcane magic...hmm, that I will have to think more about. She also has other powers, mental powers of reasoning and puzzling out clues, so quests should have an option for either solving it through brains or through brawn.

Armor..I like designing armor, so I think I can make a range of black dresses, lacy shawls, various hats and stout walking shoes.

Too silly? I suppose so. Miss Marple indeed.
OH MY! I have exposed myself with this post to be a total DOOFUS! Whatever shall I do!!!???

I was trying to sort out one of my many little technical glitches there so did not get the entire 'subtlety' of your proposed superheroine, Miss Marple. If you can make her work, go for it, we already know that St Mary Meads is a hive of degeneracy and well, lets face it murder.

lol! Upon seeing your thread title I was all ready to delete it because it sounded a bit like an advertiser, good thing I looked closely

Anyway, this is one of those threads that could probably fit into several forums, but it mostly seems to work here, so have fun

St. Mary Mead! How could I have forgotten, thanks for reminding me Avane What on earth did I say, Lettucesomething?

So I think my game could possibly be one that has parties. One of the NPCs could possibly be none other than Hercule Poirot:

Alignment
Lawful Good.

Powers
Special "little grey cells" create superior powers of deduction. Fluffy moustache for intimidating evil doers. Dapper hat doubles as shield for blocking magical attacks.

Is the Bible a work of fantasy too?

Nah, aside from the 'Preach and Conquer' RTS I had in mind, I've always wanted to see a game based on the Mad Max movies. Nothing like Fallout though, this is more of a game like the Falcon flight sims. That is to say, enough landmass to fill all of Australia and roads that stretch on for weeks in any direction (time compression a la Falcon would be optional).

And there would be car to car combat as seen in Interstate 76. Stealing fuel, raiding/protecting villages. An extensive RPG system that includes advanced engine mechanics aside from the usual stats and skills. Things like welding together new parts that have broken down, creating new parts, fuel consumption and modifying other aesthetics about your car that come with advantages of their own.

Oh, and a really sharp metal boomerang.
