Looks rather interesting, maybe even worth of going to see it.
Other opinions?

| | | Not sure, but this may be a SPOILER...
Don't get too excited, I've read that SMG only makes a cameo appearance in the beginning and it's only maybe the first 15 minutes according to someone who has seen it. |

| | | I kept hearing about how awful the first one was from so many people, then I watched it myself. Best frickin horror movie in a long long time. Most "Horror" movies are about gore and slaughter, slitting a neck from behind and stuff, not what I want to see. The Grudge gave me a perfect sense of fear and anxiety without using blood and slaughter, which I liked.
So, I will most definitely be going to see the sequal, I really hope it lives up to the first movie at least. |

I have seen both, and still think Asians are better making good horror movies...
(this doesn't mean the Hollywood version of The Grudge was bad, not at all)

You can make the differences between the versions in the facts that:
1) Asian version has only asian actors
2) In asian version, actors only speak Japanese...
So, if they spoke english in the film you saw, then it's definately Hw version...

| | | Although the Asian version is a true classic that doesn't mean the HW version is bad. SMG did a good job IMHO. And the film went against some HW rules. For instance, it didn't have a happy ending.
I'll go and see The Grudge 2 just because I'm a fan of Takashi Shimizu.
And if you like The Grudge/Ju On, be sure to see Ringu as well.

I should have put 'I agree with Kipi' somewhere... I usually reread my posts before I submit them.
