This is exactly why it would be fun. That is unless you guys don't like a good challenge.

Still, its nearly impossible to make an open-ended game into a movie. There are too many complications to deal with. That's why games like Baldur's Gate, Fallout and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic are never even considered movie material in the first place. Its easier to make movies out of linear games since both the story and the plot is straightforward as I mentioned in the previous post about the Halo movie.

I don't think that open-ended games are out of reach for movies. The movies made don't always follow the game exactly just like comics-made-into-movies don't always follow the storyline exactly. They take the general idea, the characters basic abilities, the more memorable villains and make a new storyline that would fit into the comic/game.

The same could be done with KotOR or BG if they really wanted to. But I'm not all that impressed with Lucas lately so I would rather they didn't make a KotOR movie. Unless Chris Nolan made it. And Peter Jackson is making Halo so maybe that will be worthwhile.

It's only nearly impossible if you say it is

Think of this:
BG, kotor, and any others are non-linear. So what would we do? Pick a name and his/her choices. We would *show* that there were other choices present to him/her but we would have to pick one. We need some evil main characters damnit! Another thing we may have to do is spand the movies like SW or LotR. Which movies companies like anyways. I know it would not be easy to do all this but it would be worth it if done correctly.

Yeah. Good point. Doesn't need to exactly follow the movies. Still, I wonder why no one wants to make a movie out of games like Baldur's Gate, Fallout and a slew of open-ended games.
